Counting TFM hits of IR - now @1776 - year 1996 is WIP - poll for "rAman abdullA"

Many claim "innisai mazhai" to be a super hit album in twitter replies. Interestingly, however, I've heard the album only in the internet era

Anyways, let me add the hit songs from this album.

Quite an interesting song!

#1512 mangai nee mAngani (SNS / IR male duet, innisai mazhai)
Nice melody - made uninteresting by SNS, who perhaps got this chance due to "kudumba" production - but the song gets salvaged by IR

#1513 dhoori dhoori manadhil oru dhoori (Shoba SAC - SPB duet, innisai mazhai)
Another not-so-qualified singer brings down the song while SPB salvages it!

#1514 adi nEtRiravu nadandhadhenna (SJ-SPB duet, innisai mazhai)
Best song of the album and the celebrated pair delivers the goods as always!

#1515 vA vA mannavA vAsal thEdi (SJ-SPB duet, two versions, innisai mazhai)
Both versions sound superb! Enjoyable song that perhaps suited the situation to a T.

What an album.  A Superhit one.  I have never come across that title song.  Most of the sources list the male singer of Folk-unaa folk-ku thaan / Oorai kootti cholven as SPB, which is WRONG.  It is Mano who has sung both songs.  Good album for Mano and KJY.

Though I've heard this song before, didn't pay much attention until my sister mentioned this in her "interview" to the Maestro's App Jockey   Terrific song! This was one of her picks to be aired during the call. 

(BTW, me too got "interviewed" by Jayachandran when living in Indiana and the songs I picked were as per the mood on that day - when they woke me up!

Nice album overall (a couple of songs first time listen for me).

The entire album could be totally unheard of, for most of them.  I have a very vague memory of 2 songs, Kaalam kalikaalam and Manidhan pogum, most probably on Radio since I do not have a visual memory of this movie.  Looking at the videos now, it is horrifying beyond words as to how IR accepted such movies!  Obviously, due to sheer gratefulness and his usual "Whatever trash you bring, I will still compose with utmost sincerity"-attitude.

Sola kiligal, Adi maanaa madhuraiyila, Pallikoodam, Aariraaro and Vanna sindhu were superhits.  

Thaai undu (IR version) maybe Tier-3 hit.  The rest were not popular.

Kaadhal nilaave was a superhit song.  Oru naadodi, Kaadhal vedham, Vetti vetti veru and Thanneerile were Tier-2 / Tier-3 hits (not often heard as Kaadhal nilaave, but still familiar ones).

Just realized that this album was for Pratap Pothen as director - who always got great songs from IR and this album was no exception, regardless of the public response!

What a terrific song with extraordinary rhythm arrangements!  (Malayalam thEnmAvin kombaththu reused this melody and the MD got best MD award from state ) First time when I heard this song was when it was playing on repeat at the "bakery / tea stall" in front of the Thiruvalluvar bus stand of Kovai Gandhipuram in the middle of the night!
