This song caught my ears again when I was searching for the right song in 365RajaQuiz season 2. Thanks to them for getting me in to such a fabulous discovery. A breezy song by K J Yesudas and P Susheela from Puthiya AdimaigaL. Takes me back to busy mornings when we were getting ready to go to school at one end, while the radio was busy singing these songs at the other end when no one really cared to listen to them closely, but these are the songs which kept us on our feet without which we would have never got the energy in first place to get up and get ready.

I believe this movie was not released at all. Yet thanks to all the directors/producers who released the soundtrack for millions like me to hear. Lyrics by Maestro's brother. As usual free-flowing words. Gentle orchestration with flute, violins and lead and bass guitar embellishments travel with the melody so nicely that we feel like we are caressed by the smell of the breeze from our villages. One of such songs which defined my childhood and slowly started to slowly blossom open my small and tiny heart and poured in lot of soul and made me realize what is music is all about.

My today's find. Thanks to 365rajaquiz season 2. Very rare one from Ellaam Un Kairaasi sung by Jency. Super star film. Rajini's mannerisms super. Hilarious slow motion. Love the interludes very much. Just when we think the song goes somewhere else during the last line of charanam, how fast he brings it back and ties it to pallavi. Genius!

Another rare song from unreleased Pudhiya AdimaigaL sung by P Susheela. Just 16 views for this gem Embarassed

Watch out for the guitar flute counter-point (conversation) followed by that violin solo which comes as a medicine for solace. Continuous switch from western guitar to folk solo violin and back are trademarks of Maestro. Charanam tune is so sweet with lot of pain in PS singing. The solo violin continues from where it left off(in the first interlude) in the second interlude. Not to be missed at all.

Immersed in this beauty for the past one hour. anthi maalaiyil malar saalaiyil oru kaadhal oorgOlam by SPB(?) and S Janaki from kaNNa thorakkaNum saami (1985). SPB sounds unlike him, may be S N Surendar is singing? The best part is the song does not use violins. Guitar, flute, keyboard, jalatarang, santoor and female chorus drive the song. Starting humming by female chorus followed by S Janaki (with guitar strumming) will give an idea how the song would be. Bubbly interludes. Flute at its best. Please don't miss the 'thEn theLikkum' and Odi varum' connection to pallavi. Lyrics by Vairamuthu. So sweet sounding song. Lilting!

Listening to this song after decades. Didn't remember this song had Kamal in it. Rollicking fun song. You don't get to hear such songs today. That quotient is lost in time. It is extinct nowadays. If you still need to relish, you need to go back in time, like this one. Malaysia ANNan uninhibited singing, can any one sing like him today?

Superb song. Actually there is another fabulous song, Ramanukke Seethai and I thought Deepan Chakravarthy was the hero. A surprise indeed that Kamal was also a part. Apparently he was the film's comedian while Deepan was the hero lol!

and Kamal's comedy track has no relation to the main film. Will upload Ramanakke Seethai. Had this also in the list to upload and forgot. All this is bringing up songs not on YT before Smile

Thanks DM for the upload. The beauty in the song is the melody is semi-classical while the interlude are contemporary western. The way he ties the knots between the two is magic. Flute makes a hell lot of difference which is the connection bridge between two completely different genres.

I came across this number from the Movie called: Pagalil Pournami. Haven't heard of this one in a long time...

Less unknown movie i guess, from the mid 90s starring Sivakumar.

The songs starts with IR's voice, duet sung by the impeccable SPB & KSC.. What an array of instruments & orchestration... breezy as the words suggest Karaiyaora Kaatru...

Another one for today. vaazhai maram katti vaazha ninaithathenna from isai paadum thendral by K J Yesudas and S Janaki. Guitar and flute counter-point followed by Sitar flourish. Excellent mellowing tune . Vintage Raja interludes. Especially sitar in second interlude tells the pain and the bass flute heals the pain. Beautiful. Who can sing these songs to perfection other than these two?

listen to Raja's soothing voice and the minimal orchestration - I get goosebumps just listening to the starting of both charanams - the entire song transports me to a quiet, misty, blissful place (Ooty/Kodaikaanal types)

and the second song (in Malayalam) is also pretty good
