Seems there will be an official announced of some kind of a compro between Kamal and TNTA wherein they will withdraw the boycott but release will be postponed.

What will happen to DTH premiere is awaited but there cannot be delay's between DTH premiere and theatrical release.

Looking with a "no emotions" approach, I think KH / DTH group has overpriced the movie for average TN-ers, grossly overestimating the saleability.

All said and done, majority of the "lazy-not-go-to-theater" group is also "not-spend-too-much-on-cinema-in-general-already-sulking-at-the-monthly-bills" group.

There may still be those DTH subscribers who are willing to pay and watch a Kamal movie but they may be numbering only thousands and not lakhs.

Sorry for being a skeptic but this 1000 rubees could have been the main dampener...(admit that I don't know much about today's vilaivAsi in TN...my mindset is quite dated)

Rs. 1000 was outrageous, 10 times the cost of the movie in big screen. 100 times actually given even multiplex tickets sell for Rs. 10. Even in the USA if they sell tickets for $100 for watch-at-home, even hours before the release, I don't think many people will watch. Panakkaara naatlayE ipdeenaa..

And gross overestimation of DTH viewership. I have already posted about this. I mean 30 Rs. CD Vs 1000 Rs. Both watch at home. You do the math.

Rs. 300 would have been a nominal. And who knows the DTH subscription would have tripled.

While cold response to DTH is a possibility, I can't for the life of me imagine why he would give in to the mafia even in that abject situation. If the DTH plan ic cancelled this narrative makes sense but we have not seen confirmation that it is cancelled. If it is not, and assuming kamal surrendered, why would the mafia allow DTH with them being in a stronger position?

Bala- signs aren't good. Anyway, in a way, it is good if Kamal's star status goes. Hopefully, he can make small-budget wonders as director.
