What has happened now due to the DTH telecast controversy is awareness,a good amount of it.Publicity is when he builds on this, across the nation.

Only hope this controversy does not bog him down and he is forced to spend the rest of the month only negotiating with theatre/multiplex owners.

Am not worried too much on S.India,it's the north that he really has to slog.

That way,tying up with Ekta Kapoor is a smart move.Whatever the quality of her TV serials/movies,she is a go getter and does smart marketing.

Also,as a leading provider of television software,she will see merits in his DTH plans and will support him.

By the weekend,telugu and Hindi audio should be out and probably he will outsource N.India marketing to Ekta's firm where he will be restricted to some press appearances.

That way he can do all the dirty work for a smooth release and focus on S.India and overseas markets.

But I sense a very determined Kamal this time,the way he has shown action over the last few weeks ,not leaving anything to chance nor compromising.

Yesterday my father said he is seeing VR ads in paper daily, what is that movie about!

As you said, it seems he had really done a smart move by giving to a right person, the Hindi rights. Also, he is now in talks with Singapore and Malaisian DTH which is really really a great thing! Valid point Jai. I was having this and many questions in my mind on why Kamal is choosing subjects like this which is like 'walking on the tight rope' or 'walking on a knife'. Why is he choosing subjects like this and get into controversies?. I know many film goers get to see what's happening around which is good, but definitely it also hurts some sentiments of some people/religion if they feel it is not (entirely) true. I understand that he cannot take 100% real facts unless he was one among them. Even then, he will have only his views. These kind of subjects are subjective and sensitive and can never satisfy everyone. Instead there are so many good things about every religion, why not take those and glorify them?

For example, he wants to showcase that chaos theory (butterfly effect) which the indian film industry has not seen at all which is very welcome. For that he has to humiliate our own religions/castes in a bad shape and portray to the entire world how TN was that time. You can even see one person in that Nambi episode will almost hit the deity by his legs which is all too much. Moreover, the story he had shown is not true at all (except there may be some evidences, but he cannot write a script like that unless it is a proven fact 100%), just that it might only create and expand the gaps (with unpleasant memories) among ourselves which many have already forgot about all this.

Will he be a lesser director/actor if he choose subjects without affecting these religious sentiments?. Why can't we have a film like Pushpak, or MMKR or Salangai Oli or Avvai Shanmugi again?
