This whole discussion of this channel with Kavitha is excellent - comparable to the best of the discussions we ever had in tfmpage or our IR forum here

Of course, they cannot cover EVERY detail and everything that IRFs typically discuss between each other or as a group - but touched some good points without question.

Also, both are "above-average" singers, especially the lady appears to be a trained singer with a nice voice (and hence can appreciate the singing part better than many).

Well, only one small complaint - they made the music made for MR as the best in class (which is true to some extent but not absolutely). Personally, I would rate the music given to BR movies far superior.

It could be that these two were very little kids when nizhalgaL / AO / tik-tik-tik came out (and hence their nostalgia or appreciation of them is not so much like me- albums / BGM I regard among IR's top 10 in my books  ) & 2 of those were for flop movies

Did anyone watch Sanjay Subramaniam's interview with Ilaiyaraaja from Sharjah that was on Youtube?  It was one of the best interviews that I have seen of Ilaiyaraaja.  He was in a great mood.  He was jovial but provided serious answers.  Obviously there was a lot of information he shared that we already knew, especially related to his past.  However, some of the new information that came out was that Sanjay Subramaniam has sung for him in Viduthalai-2 and that Sanjay Subramaniam is setting music to Ilaiyaraaja's lyrics (venbas).

The other things I liked about the interview included Ilaiyaraaja enjoying Sanjay's singing of a Keerthnai and asking him to sing further when Sanjay stopped.  Ilaiyaraaja also asked Sanjay to give the crowd an introduction to his background acknowledging Sanjay's achievements.   

Ilaiyaraaja also explains why he considers writing a symphony is an achievement and how difficulty it is to compose one.  You can also see the genuine respect and admiration that Ilaiyaraaja has for composers in India as well as the greats in WCM.

It was really enjoyable interview.  However, when I tried to send a link to my family, they said it was already removed from youtube.
