A song from the movie Kadhal Rojave starring Pooja Kumar (she debuted in 2000!) and George Vishnu (good expressions and acting, for such an excellent pathos), son of Malayalam actress Sheela.  After that, I think I only saw him in a tele-serial by KB while browsing channels way back in the early 2000's.  IR & SPB nailed it

Raghavane ramanaa raghunatha from "Ilamai Kaalangal".  Beautiful song (DD & AIR nostalgia), but even today the pleasure of listening to such a good melody is immense.  Back then, I never knew it was Rohini!

Heard after ages yesterday:

Thoongathe thambi thoongathe song "Ada raama".  Watching this video after ages and listening to it after a very long time. But the freshness is incredible. Another mark of IR.  SJ with all her modulation and expressions makes it top notch. Shoddy picturization (not acceptable for a Kamal movie while the other song in the same movie "Vaanam keezhe" is damn good to watch).

44 F - சில்லென்று காற்று வீசிக்கொண்டிருக்கும் காலைப்பொழுது.

எரிபொருள் முள் E என்று இளித்ததால் வண்டியைத்திருப்பி Sams Club-இல் வரிசையில் நிறுத்தினேன். 

கிட்டத்தட்ட முப்பது வண்டிகள் (எல்லா வரிசைகளும் சேர்த்து). 

"சரி, இவர்கள் தான் இன்றைய ராசா நேயர்கள்" என்று முடிவு செய்து சன்னல் கண்ணாடிகளை இறக்கி விட்டு ஒலியைப் பெருக்கி வைக்க முடிவு செய்தேன் :-) இது இப்போது வழக்கமாகி விட்டது - இதுக்கெல்லாம் அச்சம் மடம் நாணமெல்லாம் கிடையவே கிடையாது. யாராவது "என்ன இப்படி ஒரு கிறுக்கன்" என்று நினைத்தால் கவலையே படுவதில்லை. இதெல்லாம் தான் வாழ்வின் இன்பம் என்று முடிவு செய்து காலங்கள் நிறைய ஆகிவிட்டது! 

எரிபொருள் குழாய் என் கையில் இருக்கும்போது சூழலுக்கு மிகப்பொருத்தமான "தென்றல் வந்து தீண்டும் போது"! 

தானத்தந்தம் தானத்தந்தம் என்ற ஒலியைத்தொடர்ந்து வரும் ராசாவின் குரல் கேட்டதும் என்னுடைய உடல் தானாகவே சாய்ந்தாட ஆரம்பித்து விட்டது.

பம்ப்பின் அடுத்த பக்கத்தில் இருந்த வெள்ளைக்கார அம்மாவைப் பார்த்தவுடன் "முறைப்பார்களோ?" என்று நொடிப்பொழுது மனதில் தோன்றியது - அது தேவையற்ற அச்சம் என்று உடனே புரிந்து விட்டது.

முகம் மலர்ந்த சிரிப்போடு அந்தப்பெண்ணும் கைகளை நடனம் போல இருபுறமும் இசைக்குச்சேரும் விதத்தில் ஆட்ட ஆரம்பித்துக் கூடவே முழு உடலையும் சாய்ந்தாட வைத்தார் - "Very Pretty" என்றார் - ஏற்கனவே பாட்டால் கண்கலங்கி இருக்கும் எனக்கு உடம்பெல்லாம் சிலிர்ப்பு!

"It is a Tamil folk song - composed and sung by my favorite composer Ilayaraja" என்றேன். அதாவது, மிகப்பெருமிதத்துடன் - காற்றின் ஒலி மற்றும் இசையின் வலிமைக்கும் மேலான குரலில்! 

அவர் மீண்டும் "Very Very Pretty" என்றார்!

A movie was playing on the hall television while I was engaged in some chore in the kitchen.  suddenly my ears picked up a dialogue where the judge pronounced 

capital punishment to the hero Ramana. Then I knew Ramana is the movie being 

telecast on some channel. Soon after the final pronouncement, I was 

involuntarily expecting a loud thud "Jang bang" as rerecording. But what 

followed was something totally unexpected. There was an exhilarating music as 

if a caged bird were set free to fly, wings fluttering and soar up into the vast 

open sky . I was taken aback by this . I presumed Raja might want to indicate 

metaphorically that nothing short of the final judgement would satisfy Ramana. 

The dialogue that followed between Ramana and some top brass official who was 

regretting the verdict also showed Ramana gracefully accepting and convincing 

the official why the verdict was the best way out. But Raja wants to hint  

Ramana's relieved mindset after his mission accomplishment by this choice of 

rerecording. This is the kind of insight a legend like Raja can bring forth and 

enhance our movie watching experience.

என்னுடைய குழுவில் உள்ளவர் - ஆப்பிரிக்க அமெரிக்கர் - நான் சமைக்கும் உருளைக்கிழங்கை மிக விரும்பி உண்பவர்.

இப்போது தொண்டைப்புற்றுநோய் வந்ததால் வேதி மற்றும் கதிரியக்க மருத்துவங்களுக்கு ஆட்பட்டார். 

எல்லாவும் முடிந்து தற்போது ஆகக்கூடுதல் ஆற்றலோடு அவை செயல்படுவதால் வலியின் உச்சத்தில் - ஒரு பத்து நாளில் எல்லாம் சரியாகி முன்புபோல் வாழ்க்கை என்று (நம் நாட்டு) மருத்துவர் வாக்குறுதியினால் நம்பிக்கையோடு விடுப்பில் இருக்கிறார்.

மார்ஃபின் கொண்டு வலியோடு போராடும் அவருக்கு என்ன செய்யலாம் என்று பல மணிநேரங்கள் எண்ணியெண்ணி முடிவில் 100 ராசா பாட்டுக்கள் ஜம்ப் ட்ரைவில் கொடுத்தேன் - இந்தக்கிழமை முழுவதும் இந்தப்புதிய இசை கேளுங்கள் - சற்றும் வலி உண்டாக்காத மென்மையான பாடல்கள் மட்டுமே பொறுக்கி எடுத்தேன் என்று சொல்லிக்கொடுத்திருக்கிறேன்.
