இசை என்று வருகையில், இசையை போன்றே மௌனம் ஒரு படத்திற்கு மிக அவசியம். ஒரு படத்தில் எந்த இடத்தில் இசை வரவேண்டும், எந்த இடத்தில் மௌனம் ஆக்கிரமிக்க வேண்டும் என்று முடிவு செய்வது இசையமைப்பாளரா இல்லை இயக்குனரா?

இளையராஜாவை பொறுத்தவரை, அவரே அத்தகைய தனித்தன்மை உடையவர். அதில் எந்த மாற்றுக்கருத்தும் கிடையாது. முதல் படத்தில் இசை இளையராஜா. நான் அவருக்கு எதுவும் சொல்ல வேண்டிய அவசியமே கிடையாது. காட்சிகளை அந்தளவிற்கு முழுமையாக உள்வாங்கியிருப்பார். வசனமே இல்லாத காட்சியில் கூட, அந்த காட்சியை இசையால், மௌனத்தால் எந்தளவிற்கு எலிவேட் செய்ய முடியும், அந்த அளவிற்கு செழுமைபடுத்தி பார்வையாளர்களுக்கு கொண்டு போய் சேர்க்க முடியும் என்பது ராஜாவிற்கு நன்றாக தெரியும். அதில் ராஜா கிரேட். இரண்டு பேர் மௌனமாக இருக்கும் காட்சியாக இருந்தால் கூட, அவர்களின் மன உணர்வுகளை கூட புரியாதவர்களுக்கும் புரிய வைத்துவிடுவார் ராஜா. அந்த அற்புதமான ஆற்றல் இளையராஜாவிற்கு உண்டு. என்னை பொறுத்தவரை, இந்திய சினிமாவில் பின்னணி இசையில் நம்பர் ஒன் ஜீனியஸ் இளையராஜா. அதில் நான் தலையிட வேண்டிய அவசியமே இல்லை.

The concert began with just candle lights, and Mr. Srinivasan on his piano interspersing Polish composer Frédéric François Chopin’s composition with ‘Katrinile Varum Geetham’. As the rendition tapered, he then wore a blindfold in the dimly-lit room, and played a medley of audience requests which he got to see just a few minutes before the concert began.

The requests ranged from Moonlight Sonata to Alaipayuthey Kanna, and the concert encompassed everything from western classical to Carnatic music to classic Ilayaraja numbers.

இளையராஜா ஃபாமில் இருந்த வரையும் ஏ.ஆர்.ரஹ்மான் வந்த ஆரம்பத்திலும் பாடல்களால் ஹிட்டான படங்கள் இருந்தன. இந்த நிலை இப்போது இல்லை. ஒரு படத்தில் ஒரு பாட்டு ஹிட்டானால் அது பெரிய விஷயமாக இருக்கிறது.

எந்த இசையமைப்பாளருமே இன்று ரசிகர்களின் பேவரைட்டாக நீண்ட நாள் ந¦டிக்க முடியாத நிலை உள்ளது. இதனால் பாடல்களே இல்லாத படங்களும், 3 பாடல்கள் மட்டுமே கொண்ட படங்களும் அதிகம் வருகிறது. இதையடுத்து இசையமைப்பாளர்கள் பலர் ஹீரோக்களாக மாறி வருகிறார்கள். ரஹ்மான் கூட ஸ்கிரிப்ட் ரைட்டர் ஆகிவிட்டார். அடுத்த ஆண்டில் இவர் எழுதி, தயாரிக்கும் படம் இந்தியில் உருவாக உள்ளது.
