Stan, prepare for more of this rest of your life. I told my wife I'd watch award shows only if RDJ is there, and only when he is there. Gave up coffee and live award shows last year.

Finished Season 1 of Homeland -

Have to applaud the makers for the subject matter they are handling. Plot is outlandish in many episodes and the fiction liberty they take is a little too much. But as a believer in "Truth is always stranger than fiction" I can buy into the idea. Damian Lewis looks no where in the class he portrayed in Major Winters(???) from Band of Brothers. Carrie Mathieson and Saul Berenson are extremely good picks for the role.

They have ventured into many sensitive areas which have not shown before(To the best of my knowledge) in USTV which is very commendable. Drone attacks on schools is one for example. I hope they show more on "extra-ordinary rendition, G-Bay torture and other Patriot act stuff(s) in the coming season(s) and episodes.

Waiting to see Zero Dark Thirty.

Homeland - First few episodes of S2 were really good. Fantastic in fact. But degenertes quickly thereafter. Becomes hilarious actually. I ll come back and watch S3 just for Saul.

Second half VR is pretty shabbily done. No questions about that. The points which you mentioned especially in your review are correct. No denying that. Also there is no mention of the fact how Omar and his entourage found his way into the U.S. Not that it is a necessity but I am curious. Yes and their free-roaming is ridiculous beyond words.

According to Gilligan, the third-to-last episode's script is finished, and the penultimate episode is being written this week. Preproduction on the series finale begins at the end of February, so he said he needs to start putting his fingers to the keyboard to get the final script finished in time.

Homeland - S2 Upto E4

Liking the Quinn guy already. The whole love/affair angle between Carrie and Brody is good. One can only hope for more. The Good cop/bad cop routine though very old is executed here well. Totally liking the opening credits. Haunts and creeps you in a unique way.
