Puthiya Theerangal Title score. See how Maestro gets us into the sea waters right from the first second and right from the first note. Surprisingly one lead guitar and one bass guitar makes this much of an impression. Flute takes over (@2:15) with guitar playing in a counter-mode fashion, absolutely delightful. The bass flute then continues its journey. Then we hear the 'Raja gopuram' song (@3:11) in a different shade, and then he plays sinthoora pottuthottu (@3:41) in a totally different shade which makes us wonder, if this is a new song. Just a little change in tempo and tune, but the results are stunning. Maestro then plays guitar and flute make it to the finish line. There are lot of WCM concepts again, but he never takes the nativity out of us in the score. Very rich and modern, yet very traditional, but not conventional. I am listening this almost daily before going to bed. I can feel the splashes of sea water over me.

Full movie is here, for those interested. Looks like Rajagopuram song is not there in the posted video.

I'm surprised this bgm isn't more popular. A haunting, eerie theme apt for the storyline (Moodupani), particularly from 0:37.

uppu is by R.Selvaraj - writer of many a bharathiraaja movies in 90s. it is an art film with Roja as the lead. he was supposed to make another art movie called "pachai kudai" with music by raaja. donno what happend to that.

Listened to the score of Nenjathaii killathe. It is cliched, I know, but God, just how much has IR tripped on the bass guitar in that period. Listen to the whole score. In particular note the hippest sounding Veena (electric?) you will hear which enters at around 1:00 and gives way to the acoustic guitar at 1:22 or so, while the bass guitar is all along on its own trip.

And then some more favourite parts:

Flute-acoustic guitar counterpoint from 2:10 to 2:30
5:25 to 6:00 - Bass guitar - flute trip.
6:13 to 8:04 - Veena and bass guitar trip. Never has the Veena sounded so hip, not even in Rajesh Vaidya's hands.
10:10 to 10:40 acoustic+bass guitar trip

This is also the one thing I really miss about IR today - the pristine acoustic guitar parts which he very rarely seems to write these days.

He did use it in Vaanam Mella first interlude. Or was it nylon string?

EDIT:  Listening to it now, sounds like it might have been soft electric.
