Super Singer - Singers of the future

One more for the day.  A super duper performance of Anjali Anjali Pushpanjali.  Even Stephen's unnecessarily laidback approach to the song didn't stop her.    Just dances in and out of the beat effortlessly and elegantly, already has a fully evolved sense of style and expression here that this year's bunch, as adults, are for the most part struggling to locate. Raja, please give her some songs instead of that Priyadarshini singer at least.

I do wonder how people manage to get nostalgic about HJ or Anu Malik or Britney or Linkin Park.  I understand we all have our tastes but it still takes some doing.  

You forget that >90% youthu grow up blindly consuming top 40 or Bolly/Kolly hits of the day.....and they naturally gravitate towards those videos on youtube to register their "nostalogy" there. One should be mentally prepared for "Hit like if you are listening in 2020" and "Damn, music was so good back then" from Beliebers and Anirudhians as they mature into adults.

Pannikrishnan had the gall to say that Vikram vikram song aint musically challenging but had nothing to say when contestants sang eternal classics like goosethehhheero, o o sanam.

Alka's renditon of Naadham En Jeevane is the best among any of the performances I heard in SS junior or senior. The emotions that she was able to convey for her age is beyond outstanding. She is definitely a talent to watch far but as fring pointed out it's really heartbreaking to see the kind of opportunities she is getting. I too wish that she sings for IR soon.

You haven't seen yesterday's episode, have you? He sang raaththiriyil pooththirukkum messing up a few words in the process but got very favorable comments and marks. All the six songs they chose yesterday were Raaja's    Glad they picked some uncommon songs like ammammaa vanthathingu and sonnabadi kelu..

Have you guys listened to Priyanka, she was in the same batch with Alka in Super Singer Junior, somehow i feel she's got more rounded voice than Alka.

Right, Priyanka is my favorite. Alka's voice is so thin that it often reminds me of Chinmayi though the former is a much better singer   
 
Btw, even yesterday's episode had all Raaja songs. But not thrilled with the choices (ennOda raasi / rAjAvukku rAjA naan)

Glad they picked all rAsA songs...Sarath's thangamagan song was just ok (singing good but missed words and "attenuated" feel) but they gave 36 and thus bailed him out of danger...

Funny to see Sonia with thoNdai problem getting 36 (top) for a below-standard ninaivO oru paRavai...

Funny to see the judges awarding Parvathy a "perfect 10" for that below-average 'sinnaththAyavaL', that too after openly pointing out problems!

Good to see such showcasing of stupidity, which at last even most "not-so-discerning-viewers" can understand (all that they need is to see Madhumitha's reaction for the perfect 10 thingy)

Another stupidity of the show is all the visiting clowns (Crazy / SVS etc) showcasing their idiocy / ignorance w.r.t music in a music show.

Agreed it's KH-RK week but it's not ALL about those two only. The show is MAINLY about TFM and singing. And all these jokers can talk about are their childhood friendships with the stars / nostalgia etc and NOT A SINGLE WORD ABOUT SONGS / EFFORT BEHIND THEM / MUSIC MAKING etc.

So much for the musical sense of the associates of KH-RK!

No wonder a genius like IR had to handle all such insincere / musically ignorant gumbal by simply keeping aloof or even pretending with "me-greater-than-all-you-fellows" attitude!

Otherwise he would have either gone insane or reduced himself to the mediocre levels of such real-life-comedians!

Anyone gives 8 for one of the weakest performance? Wow!

That genius SVSekhar had no word to say about Rajini's acting - no one bothered to say one word about what a good actor he is.. sad...
Let the fact be known - when KB brought Rajini in - he was the better actor in comparison to Kamal hassan. Just that he was a poor guy 
desperate for money (nothing wrong with that) which he was getting in tonnes for his styles/mannerisms alone..

What is the point of having a guitar signed by Rajni, why not Sadhanandhan or even someone like Keba? What exactly does Rajni have to do with the instrument? I consider this an insult to TFM guitarists and the instrument itself. This is the bane of having the music industry so inextricably linked to Kolly -we have to suffer through all this nonsense. This is also the answer to App saar's point on Crazy and SVS appearing and rambling about random things (though I honestly just skipped all of it).Not that Crazy Mohan or S Ve Sekhar are not good comedians per se, but often times their Mokkais are unendurable.

Saw on youtube the ad that ARR is coming to SS4 show tomorrow - reinforces my theory that he is an indirect "sponsor" (and thus singers are forced to sing even obscure numbers as 'peNNalla peNNalla' which even SPB does not remember)...

Compere: Even after 18 years, the song (malargaLE, Love Birds, lovely song, I like it no doubt) is fresh. How is it? ARR: That's classical music  and twitter fans went berserk on how they are letting him speak on the music and how calm he is amid all the hype. Slight aa ARR'a pAkka pAvamA irunchu. He himself looked a tad embarrassed with all the sycophancy.

And the attempt to establish long forgotten arr numbers as the showcase for finals fell flat when dhivagar's neeye unakku endrum nigaraanavan being the only attraction of the finals.most hilarious thing was the rehearsed crowd reactions. once the colour dress karuvaayan(ananth) was caught with a dull expression just when camera was approaching, boom he changed the expression to shaking his head sabha maama style. once raaga expert mahathi was caught out sreeniying sreeni in giving a fake rasika orgasmic expression.. disgustingly interesting video clips.

ironically for all that srini mama tried to help the rahmaniacs, Rahman himself was only impressed by diwakar. So he and murthy probably aren't unhappy with the result. The three musketeers couldn't stop a deserrving contestant from winning.

Super singer junior going on. Been watching it whenever I find time. After having a few unofficial Raaja rounds (more than 80% songs the kids chose were Raaja's, no exaggeration) the makers decided to have a 'new' songs round. Post 2008 or something so that they can finally get away from Raaja. And guess the first song chosen - முதல் முறை பார்த்த ஞாபகம்.   

That the emotions in this song was too much for the contestant and both her and the orchestra voluntarily embarassed themselves need not be mentioned.
