~Health benefits of Surya Namaskar~
The simple Surya Namaskar that has been practiced in India for years has recently found a whole lot of takers. And if you want a good start to your day, what better than the Surya Namaskar, which is known to have a host of healthbenefits. There are 12 different poses to do in a Surya Namaskar and you're known to have finished a complete round when you've performed two consecutive sets.
Surya Namaskar stimulates almost every system in your body - the cardiovascular system because it keeps the heart strong and, the digestive system as well as the nervous system.
- It also makes endocrinal glands like the thyroid, parathyroid and pituitary glands, function normally.
- Practising the Surya Namaskar regularly is also known to ease stress and giveyou peace of mind besides increasing your levels of concentration.
-If you have trouble sleeping at night, the Surya Namaskar will help you fall asleep without using any external stimulants.

A father and mother kissing their dying little girl goodbye. If you are wondering why all the medic people are bowing: in less than an hour, two small children in the next room are able to live thanks to the little girl’s kidney and liver. - Imgur
“Powerful” isn’t a good enough descriptor for this image series.

Tenerife Airport Disaster
The deadliest aviation accident in history occurred at 5:07pm on March 27th 1977, and came about as a result of a bomb explosion in Gran Canaria airport. Several planes were diverted to Tenerife North Airport, Los Rodeos, including KLM Flight 4805 and Pan Am Flight 1736, both Boeing 747s. This unscheduled surge in air activity meant that many aircraft were forced to park on the taxiway, causing blockages and complicating matters even further. This situation could have been manageable, however a dense fog formed over the airport, greatly reducing visibility. The two above-mentioned aircraft taxied onto the only runway in order to position themselves for takeoff, the dense fog meant that neither aircraft nor the control tower were visible. The control tower gave a clearance to the KLM flight which specified the aircraft’s departure route and gave instructions of what to do after take-off, however it was not a specific clearance for actual take-off. The co-pilot’s reply was “We’re now at take-off,” to which the control tower replied “OK.”
It appears that the flight crew meant that they were actually beginning their take-off, while the controller took it to mean they were in take-off position, awaiting final clearance. He added, “Stand by for take-off, I will call you.” The Pan Am flight transmitted a simultaneous message stating that they were not clear of the runway but mutual interference meant the messages were not transmitted. As the KLM flight increased speed for takeoff, the two crews eventually saw one another and the Pan Am captain applied full power and attempted to veer sharply onto the fourth exit. The KLM captain attempted a steep climb, scraping the plane’s tail along the runway for 65 feet. It left the ground, but its underside struck the Pam Am plane’s upper fuselage, ripping it apart. The KLM plane stalled and came down some 500 feet further on, then slid a further 1000 feet. The collision left a total of 583 dead, this included all 248 onboard the KLM flight and 335 of the 396 passengers and crew on the Pan Am flight.

THE NILE AT NIGHT
The Nile River and its Delta provide a home for about 97 percent of Egypt’s population, even though the river and delta form less than 5 percent of the country’s land area. This image, taken on October 13, 2012 by the Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) on the Suomi NPP satellite shows a nighttime view. The VIIRS captured this image using its “day-night band”; this detects light in a range of wavelengths from green to near-infrared. It uses filtering techniques to observe signals such as gas flares, auroras, wildfires, city lights, and reflected moonlight.
Lights are abundant along the full length of the river, though the brightest lights are around Cairo. Away from the lights, the land and water appear black. As the image was acquired near the time of the new Moon, very little moonlight was available to brighten the land and water surfaces.

These plants are especially good at being “air filters” which is great for someone with asthma, allergies, or just likes the idea...
1. Bamboo Palm: removes formaldahyde and is also said to act as a natural humidifier.
2. Snake Plant: Found to absorb nitrogen oxides and formaldahyde.
3. Areca Palm: One of the best air purifying plants for general air cleanliness.
4. Spider Plant: Great indoor plant for removing carbon monoxide and other toxins or impurities. Spider plants are one of three plants NASA deems best at removing formaldahyde from the air.
5. Peace Lily: Peace lilies could be called the “clean-all.” They’re often placed in bathrooms or laundry rooms because they’re known for removing mold spores. Also known to remove formaldahyde and trichloroethylene.
6. Gerbera Daisy: Not only do these gorgeous flowers remove benzene from the air, they’re known to improve sleep by absorbing carbon dioxide and giving off more oxygen over night.

Maaan....that pix of the parents kissing their daughter goodbye, almost drew tears (Open weeping not allowed in the office). Seriously, it's going to haunt me for sometimes. Being parents does that to you...

A deaf Japanese composer, hailed as their Beethoven, rated in Japan as a prolific*, musical genius is neither deaf nor can write his own score and used a ghost writer
http://www.nytimes.com/2014/02/07/arts/music/renowned-japanese-composer-mamoru-samuragochi-admits-fraud.html?_r=1
*ellAm rightu, 20+ tracks in 17 yrs, 3 video games and 1 movie = prolific? Japanese makkaLa kootamA sEndhu dhAn kummaNum.
Even better are some of the comments.
"A writer of video game and figure skating "music" is a latter-day Beethoven???
I feel ill."
"Ok, but where is the dupe? Was the music loved only because it was thought to be composed by a deaf prodigy, or because it was great music? Does it matter to the skater who wrote the music? If we found out now that Beethovan wasn't deaf, would that turn the 9th to the 8.5th?"
"Good news - one person is less deaf than was widely believed, and the other is a more talented composer than was widely known. -- Concerned Citizen"
"He wasn't deaf, he didn't write the music, next we discover he isn't Japanese either?"

Re: Random/Interesting stuff to read from the Internet!!
Just last year or maybe year before, a similar case was busted in UK. Unable to recall the names or the details. I think it had to do with some lady who was made out to have never received her due in classical music circles and from 90s onwards all these recordings of hers began tumbling her that showed her to be a great singer. She even died of some disease, probably cancer. Turns out she didn't sing at all, other singers' recordings were passed off as hers. Pathetic stuff. It does a disservice to those who are genuinely handicapped and/or have genuinely faced hardship to make it, because people will believe their stories a little less thanks to these charlatans.
