Things which I thought would not happen on my watch but yet they happened:- Post #1
Was lost totally(language wise) and was completely at sea in a Small Tiffen centre in Coimbatore. I was the only local guy having breakfast and could understand jack on what was going around me.

Must Read: Bill Gates and his amazing speech on the Eleven Rules of Life-Fiction!!
This should be posted in every school or kid's bedroom.
Love him or hate him , he sure hits the nail on the head with this!!!
Bill Gates recently gave a speech at a High School about
eleven (11) things they did not and will not learn in school.
He talks about how feel-good, politically correct teachings created a generation of kids with no concept of reality and how this concept set them up for failure in the real world.
Rule 1: Life is not fair - get used to it!
Rule 2: The world doesn't care about your self-esteem.
The world will expect you to accomplish something BEFORE you feel good about yourself.
Rule 3: You will NOT make $60,000 a year right out of high school. You won't be a vice-president with a car phone until you earn both.
Rule 4: If you think your teacher is tough, wait till you get a boss
Rule 5: Flipping burgers is not beneath your dignity.
Your Grandparents had a different word for burger flipping: They called it opportunity.
Rule 6: If you mess up, it's not your parents' fault,
so don't whine about your mistakes, learn from them.
Rule 7: Before you were born, your parents weren't as boring as they are now. They got that way from paying your bills, cleaning your clothes and listening to you
talk about how cool you thought you were: So before you save the rain forest from the parasites of your parent's generation, try delousing the closet in your own room..
Rule 8: Your school may have done away with winners and losers, but life HAS NOT. In some schools, they have abolished failing grades and they'll give you as MANY TIMES as you want to get the right answer.
*This doesn't bear the slightest resemblance to ANYTHING in real life.
Rule 9: Life is not divided into semesters.
You don't get summers off and very few employers
are interested in helping you FIND YOURSELF.
*Do that on your own time.
Rule 10: Television is NOT real life.
In real life people actually have to leave the coffee shop and go to jobs.
Rule 11: Be nice to nerds.
Chances are you'll end up working for one.

Re: Random/Interesting stuff to read from the Internet!!
Interestingly, I was telling my 6 year old the very first point last night
She was complaining that she wasn't allowed to watch any kind of screen while eating (while her college-going-big-brother got away with it, taking his plate to the computer despite his mother's protests).
The girl (refusing to eat anymore, crying, tantrums etc) :
"adhu FAIR illa" (repeating it so many times)
Me, finally, after finishing my dinner...:
"YES, THAT IS NOT FAIR!
AND THAT'S THE WAY IT IS IN THE WORLD!
NOW, YOU BETTER FINISH YOUR PLATE"
(She immediately became quiet and started eating )

"Random" may not be appropriate term to describe this link...
Details of CT shooting victims
Details of CT shooting victims
Nancy Lanza, 52, mother of gunman
Investigators believe that Adam Lanza shot his mother at her home near Sandy Hook Elementary before driving to the school and killing 26 others, then himself.
Nancy Lanza was social and generous, friends and neighbors told The New York Times. A friend told NBC News that she was a gun enthusiast.
“She had a pretty extensive gun collection,” Dan Holmes said. “She was a collector, she was pretty proud of that. She always mentioned that she really loved the act of shooting.”
He said that she took her sons to the shooting range to practice their marksmanship.
In 2008, Peter John Lanza filed for divorce from her, court records show. He lives in Stamford, Conn., and is a tax director at General Electric

LEAN YOUR KIDNEYS IN LESS THAN Rs 10!
Years pass by and our kidneys filter the blood by removing salt, poison and any unwanted elements entering our body. With time, the salt accumulates and this needs to undergo a thorough cleaning. How to do it?
First take a bunch of parsley or cilantro (coriander leaves ) and wash it clean. Then cut it in small pieces and put it in a pot and pour clean water and boil it for ten minutes. Let it cool down and then filter it and pour in a clean bottle and keep in the fridge.
Drink one glass daily and your system will be flushed!

The highest currency is the Kuwaiti dinar.
&
The lowest is most likely the Iranian rial.
The highest-valued currency unit is the currency in which a single unit buys the highest number of any given other currency or the largest amount of a given good. Most commonly the calculation is made against a major reserve currency such as the euro (EUR), thepound sterling (GBP) or the United States dollar (USD). © Wikipedia

Is "gut bacteria" cause for obesity?
After an interesting discussion (related to healthcare costs / reforms / possible premium going up / who has to pay etc) in our team room on this subject, my relatively fatter neighbor-cube guy sent this link
Obesity in human beings could be caused by bacterial infection rather than eating too much, exercising too little or genetics, according to a groundbreaking study that could have profound implications for public health systems, the pharmaceutical industry and food manufacturers.
The discovery in China followed an eight-year search by scientists across the world to explain the link between gut bacteria and obesity.
