Just watched airtel dth vishwa launch videos..

Tata Sky is not included...

Seems no special encryption or anything done to prevent recording...just it cant be recorded in set top box recorders...but i guess the video/audio output can be easily recorded by external recorder...but can be identified by the cust id....(i can have my own copy anyway)

Instead of BO reports, we'll have DTH reports(unverified as usual) that latest Commander release hit 500 crs in DTH alone etc.

Such horrible singing and he had to diplomatically, 'nalla paadneenga, nice' etc., Biggest kazhuththaruppu was the imitation of his roles (Aalavanthaan, Singaravelan, Avvai). exactly .. but this has created greater reach for the movie.. even among family lady audience.. this is Kamal's weakest section in recent times..

This 30Lack subscribers from Airtel alone, article, originated from RaviNag a Distributer. He assures this is true and also says airtel has this many customers. Thats for some who questioned the Airtel subscriber base count.

Figures can be measured if we have the total DTH subscriber base.

If initial figures released by Airtel on Friday is correct,touching 20 lakh bookings looks practical.

If he can ensure a smooth theatrical release and deliver through strong content,will feel 2013 has started on a great note.

producers were never against this DTH - it is always Distributors and theatre owners and they are going to severly get hurt if this channel is
going to be used in the way Kamal has executed it for Vishwaroopam. Even in hollywood big studios delay the release of DTH digital dispersal
till the movie has completed its fair share of run in theatres. Movie makers will always have newer media to distribute content - but movie hall owners have nothing else to sell
apart from a current movie - all other revenues are secondary (pop corns and cool drinks). Even in the USA - movie halls are subsidized and
protected. So all that money Kamal poured into Auro 3d is a waste (Added to the time it took to do it) if he targeted DTH as a main base.
Now the movie hall owners have to invest in new speaker systems and also compete in reducing movie ticket price to attract 'family audience' who
would now be content to watch it at a cheaper rate sitting at home. Embracing technology is fine but at what cost Mr.Kamal Hassan?

what is there to start - we know now that
Kamal was not betting blind. We will know if any other producer follows suit.
So the discussion is pertinent. leave aside the "fan" in you and see things for
what they are. I think this is a landmine area - potentially it could end up making the movie halls
only valid for first 7 days of a movie for the fans to do their despicable charade when their idol's movies
get released..
