This feller Rajini group dhAnE? Isn't this the time for Rajini to exhibit idukkaN kaLaiyum natpu?
Even HC Kamal fans aren't complaining about this as much as I am (with due apologies to Nerd, SS and all) but as a fan of both, and a believer in their frenship, I am disappointed with
1) Rajini's general silence
2) Unwillingness/inability/indifference to taming the Abirami Somanathan menace. I hope the reason is the second of the 3 options(inability).

K.Rajan is a Rajini jaalra and he did take part in the dec 12 bday function ..

Abhirami Ramanathan was a jaalra for everyone..

Kamal did say in the mumbai press conference that "Rajini is enquiring him often abt the state of DTH release as if he himself invested in this movie"

I don't know what to tell abt Rajini support for DTH. I guess he is also one among the many many Kollywood ppl who are neutral on this and looking forward on what to happen. In any case he won't be against a new revenue model. Even his Kochadaiyaan a hi budget, can benefit frm this DTH. He is already adding Auro3D to his film. But as karthi said, he enquired and expressed his goodwill concern on Vishwaroopam DTH issue, personally to kamal

Thanks to sakala's link. Managed to grab a view of the A S S featuring Kamal. What Kamal commented about Raja is sure to cool the hearts of Raja fanb who are a tad disappointed with Kamal ignoring Raja for his projects. It was indeed a sight to watch Kamal nodding and shaking his head for every sangathi that rolled by. Periya rasigan pa avar !!! Pooja kumar with that shimmering white and gold laced gown was beaming besides Kamal.

"kElviyin nAyaganE" was a vayadhukku meeriya wow perfpormance by Suganya. Kamal seemed to echo my thoughts that crossed my mind about Srividhya's eyes , while Suganya was singing. Vaniji would be proud of her.

"orE naaL" was a good selection and among the two, the kannadiga girl did a fine job. The other girl was found wanting which pulled down the overall performance. I am guessing what could be Kamal's favourite song in iLamai OonjalAduiradhu, if not this one:roll:

Kamal Haasan seems to be far more relaxed....
-Theater owners and Distributor Raj Kamal Films International get compromised.
-Now Theater owners accepted to release the movie in both Theater and DTH.
-Official confirmation will be given on press meet which is going to be held on tomorrow with Vishwaroopam team.
-Vishwaroopam is also expected to release more than 3000 screens (Biggest release in Tamil industry ever).

Guess the problem is still there. But Kamalji is confident. Below is from a source in Orkut.

the movie got a green signal for the release in Erode, Covai, Tirupur Salem area. Trichy has been interested in screening but a little hesitant and scared ( and will eventually release.) The movie has been sold out in these area and many theaters have been already rented out for the opening weekend to make sure peaceful release and there is no going back in that (unless Kamal decides not to release). That is one reason why movies like Samar and KLTA are planning a Monday/Tuesday release as there is no way they can get on Jan 11 -13 ... Madurai and Chennai are still in problem but the status with Madurai is that, if Kamal makes a personal visit everything will be resolved - given his strong influence in the area.

As far as Chennai goes, Maayajal, Inox, Sathyam and a few other big theaters have been already convinced, and Abhirami has also been one of the theaters that are already booked. CineMax is neutral on the issue while PVR (initially reluctant has to give up with time).. The understanding is that, the number of shows will be increased in these theaters if in case the other theaters dint co-operate and Kamal believes these (and a few other) are the major revenue generating theater for a movie like Vishwaroopam. Attempts are on for renting out a few more theaters for the opening weekend to be on safe side but as of now that seems a little tougher. Kamal wants to stand firm on his stance to strike insecure feeling for the theater so as to make the process easy and less time consuming for him. There is NO Political backing for Kamal and it is all by himself with business negotiations.

Meanwhile in Andhra, many smaller districts the movie is sold out and in Hyderabad, they are believing the major multiplex chain for revenue. PVP and other Telugu friends of Kamal have been working on getting the screens by either booking or renting out.

The renting out is currently planned for the opening weekend, and the assumption is that, by end of it , if the movie's fate will be known and it will be upto the theater owners to continue or not with the screening.
