I searched around the web for the name of the person who does the 'nattuvanAr' stuff in the 'thEr koNdu senRavan yArendRu solladi thOzhi' song of enakkuL oruvan (That "thA-thukka-thaka-jam" adidhadi, in the prelude and interludes) but could not find !

I guess it's the same person who did the same for thillAnA mOhanAmbAL songs / thiruvarutchelvar song / amudhE thamizhE azhagiya mozhiyE of kOvil puRA ("thamizhE nALum nee pAdu, thambi evvaLavu azhagAppAduRAn") etc.

Does anyone know?

Missed this thread. Most of the songs where we say santoor in Maestro's songs (atleast from 80s) is nothing but the santoor tone from keyboard, not the original santoor. Please listen to the prelude of poothu poothu from kumbakkarai thanggaiyya. It is not from santoor, but the santoor tone produced by keyboard, but it sounds so original. So the prelude in kannan oru kai kuzhanthai definitely sounds original santoor, as the period of late 70s makes me believe that it is original santoor rather than santoor tone.

Here is the original santoor by Pandit. Shivkumar Sharma. We can hear the difference between original and keyboard'ish tone, especially from 1:00:00 - 1:12:00, when the tempo picks up.

Yes Maarolsavam is from the same film Aa Raathri. Kicksass composition!. Few years ago, there used to be one site punchapaadam.com where they used to share many IR albums, but now they discontinued sharing it. May be it's not about book-keeping, they (malayalam industry) are intentional about it. Let me know if you need anything from malayalam. I should have most of them.

There is a song that goes like "Manjal Veyyil Sevvaanathil" sung by Jolly Abraham and Vani Jeyaram. I thought it was from Nandu until I recently watched the movie and found that it featured a different song - Manjal Veyyil Maalai Itta Poove sung by Uma Ramanan. Does any one know which movie is the first song featured in?

Finally watched Puthu Puthu Arthanggal in full. What's the story. Some part of the background score is clearly not IR. I hear some MSV, and some Hindi shit. Guys?

Famous story. KB wasted IR's call-sheet and called him suddenly to finish re-recording later. IR refused saying he has made other commitments and he cannot put them back, and asked KB to wait.
KB went ahead and got his own bits and pieces BGM done.
After that, IR refused to work with KB again.
And then KB tried Maragadhamani, Deva et al before he struck Gold with Rahman.

Once achieved, he used media to defame IR in many ways including blackout of IR's 94-95 *superhits*(Read sureshs65's thread and P_R's tweet on "if ppl think 94-95 was only aasai and indian etc, soocide paNNikkaNum). He used media to spread canards about IR's arrogance, ably aided by his comrades-in-arm.
Given that IR's jaadhi was a reason which made him resist him in the first place, until SB, the reading between the lines is that the jaadhi-supremacy in him drove him to his actions.

I mean, I'd really appreciate it if you give your view. Right now, I am in the "KB is one of the best directors in TFI" camp. Now is the time to make me a skeptic.

As far as I know, there had been NO songs in the movie. That's why you won't find it in thiraippadal website. (I haven't seen the movie and so no idea about how the BGM was).

It was produced by Kamal but Sathyaraj acted as hero.

Isn't there some original 'vAdiyammA ponmagaLE' song by PS?

I got a chance to listen to that PS-SPB song in palootti vaLarththa kiLi and wonder whether this is a "remix" or "spoof" of an old song...

If so, what is the original? Or, is this the original (& by default a fun song)?

At the minimum, 'vAdiyammA ponmagaLE vandha idam nalla idam' was quite popular those days...

I think KB's relationship with IR is in no way related or detrimental to his reputation as a good director. I liked KB's older movies, but later it all became a bit adult oriented and I am not into appreciating that kind of relationship. Even SB's plot is something I dont really like. It was a male chauvinistic point of view. And whatever happened to Suhasini's character is sad and I 'sense' some insensitivity in the director. Similar things happen in pudhu pudhu arthangal and seeing more examples like this, I am not fond of KB as a person (not because of his tiff with IR).

I am listening to Dharma Bhoomi songs. From the soundscape and juvenile lyrics to fit the tune, I feel it is definitely a dubbed version from telugu. I also heard that the hero of the movie is Balakrishna. Initially I thought it was dubbed from Dharma Kshetram where Balakrishna and Divya Bharathi acted, but when hearing Dharma Kshetram songs looks like none of the songs were dubbed to Dharma Bhoomi. So there should be some other telugu original movie for Dharma Bhoomi. Does anyone know about it? If so, please share the details.
