Madhura Sudha (actual name Tesla Ganesh) was fantastic in articulating Raaja's perspective. The anchor was the worst, showed his anti-raaja bias on more than one occasion and his understanding of copyrights was lol-worthy.

On a separate note, really enjoying Madhura Sudha YT channel. It's such a pleasure to hear him talk about Raaja's compositions. Not sure if he is already on forum.

The author of this forum Maha is a huge fan of tamil film music and has remastered more than 700 of the maestro's numbers along with quite a few OSTs (with new numbers added every week). I suggest you check out his You Tube channel MAHA 2014 and become a member if you like it.

Personally this channel and Navin Mozart's channel are two of my most visited on a regular basis. Both these channels are non profit and perhaps that is the reason the Maestro and his legal team have left these untouched. I love both these guys...may God bless them for all their selfless service to us the Maestro's fans.

And regarding Ushaji's post of the Maestro's style on the bgms it is absolutely true as to how his choice of instruments reflect the scene and the characters.

For example in Sigappu Rojakkal when Kamal follows Sridevi to the shop she works - the theme music is performed with a flute representing the innocence of the female character when she displays kerchiefs and Kamal rejecting them one after the other followed by the same tune being played with a Sax that represents the male character...brilliant!

Kadhal Kavidhai is a very under appreciated album with fantastic songs and back ground score. Unfortunately a lot of these projects did not do well commercially and the audience had moved on loops and sounds created by electronics . But the longevity of this music proves what is real music vs the fast food stuff whose shelf life is already over..

Continuing on the thought pointed out by Ushaji about the choice of instruments and the orchestration reflecting the characters, this OST segment is a classic example.

City based male meeting village based girl and the bgm score has an electric guitar playing the male part and a violin (synthesizer playing a violinish tone) playing a folk bit playing the female part Smile

- watch it to see the coming together of both the characters and the fusion effect.

Maestro at his best and a special thanks to Maha for remastering this into Dolby..Enjoy!

Just saw the beginning (studio rehearsal) part - WOW - one of my MOST FAV. pieces of IR's work - the grand 2nd interlude of madai thiRandhu!

Wonderful to see IR conducting for that strings score!!

It is pretty obvious that the chorus is not delivering even 10% of the original Embarassed

However, the orchestra is doing splendid job as usual.

Wow....what a difference it makes listening to those rush of violins right at the studio of the man himself. The quality of music is so rich and sounds so good when comparing it with listening to recorded music or a performance on stage.

Live music is so rich and he is so so right when he talks about performance vs plasticity..

Exactly Kiru sir! What a smile and energy!!! As one of the directors interviewed for Manam magazine says, he has the enthusiasm and innocence of a 10 year old.
