However, the funny part is this site reporting this as "IR replaces ARR"

The film's shoot has been completed and the post production work is expected to begin soon. Earlier, director Vijay, the husband of Amala Paul revealed that the palns are on to approach Oscar winning composer A.R.Rahman to score music for the film. He had said that after the film is shot it will be shown to Rahman and he can take a call on scoring the BGM for it.

But now sources reveal that the Isaignani Ilaiyaraja is on board to score music for the 'Sila Nerangalil'. Priyadarshan recently met his 'Siraichalai' composer and screened his new film. The senior Raja seems to have been highly impressed by the content and accepted to be a part of the film.

It is also rumored that as against the initial plan a few songs composed by Ilaiyaraja will also be included in the film.

IR doing music for next Pratap Pothen project it seems.

The music will be something to look forward to (PP has great taste and typically picks special ones from the vast output pouring out of IR)...

Manorama praises the movie...

The music by Ilaiyaraja that works in the background is subtle and never overpowering....

I am very much interested to see how that Love & Love only song (will there be only one song or few songs) shapes up, sounds promising.  It seems that Rachael Leachar is a Voice Australia finalist and sounds unusually original for a reality tv show 'product'.  Also legally blind.

Almost feel betrayed that there are only 6 six tracks in TT. Excellent all over, except still not able to really *get* Sharreth's song. Eyes, or rather ears are currently set on aattakkAri mAmamboNNu. A teasing hint of sAlaiyOram sOlaiyondRu in the pallavi and all the progressions further are all perfect. It ends so abruptly strangely urging to replay immediately. When was the last time Raaja wrote a love duet!

Sheepchase,  I am disappointed too about song count.  Especially because there was mention of 12 songs being composed in an old youtube promotional piece.  I wonder if we will get additional songs released later.

How come this news report does not say that this fellow is s/o Karthik who tried to get some foothold in politics on caste basis?
(It's pretty obvious from the title of the movie that this will be an effort on caste lines...)

The film and the way it employs the music and songs prove only one thing - as every artist slowly turns into a caricature of themselves, Raaja can only helplessly observe the proceedings. கங்கு அணையாம எவ்ளோ தான் பாத்துக்கறது? 

Paar Uru Aaaya is the only solace in the film, employed to a great effect (with an interesting twist). Only one new additional piece, which we partly heard in the teaser. Just the prelude followed by a short instrumental version of Aattakkaari. The film (and Mr.Bala) didn't deserve the theme piece or Idarinum. Oh, the two rupees blade news might be true; and there is a remix of Rahman song, Mani Sharma song and a Yuvan song. (Or rather, Kamal, Vijay and Ajith song). Where exactly are the 14 pieces or why did this film deserve the 1000th tag? (Oh, well, may be no film deserves the tag anyway).

There is a terrific scene involving a parade of women in the second half and the score underscoring the scene is alarmingly, precisely unsettling. The rest of the score is largely functional with occasional flourishes.

avlo moosam illaiyae, all the songs are woven nicely into the screenplay, if anything TT is a very good vehicle for Raaja and one of the redeeming points, again chithirayil nila soru'la anaiyatha kangu

remix's length does makes you squirm in the seat again this more like a insert to drive home a very small point. 'Elilea' moment for Bala, sincerely hope he hasn't burnt any bridges with this 'insert'  


on the movie, if only Bala had it titled 'Attakari Mamman Ponnu' and filmed it wholly on Mr.Suravalli we would have had a solid film in our hands.
haven't seen 'Paradesi' so this is most unequal of all the Bala movies I have seen viz a viz humour/action/drama, it was as if Bala had a 3 way toggle switch and went about in precision. casting was pitch perfect for the most especially Varu/Gayathri/Villain but donno what possessed him to cast 'stone cold' as Sanasi, just don't feel for his plight if anything wish Sanasi got jacked a tad.

Varu's show all the way, movie dinks when she goes AWOL, needed more scenes in the 'colony' and less of Stone cold.
Paruru Vaaya is the 'dope' :lumpinthethroat:,  for Bala to even write in a sequence which is just so prefect.
but why GM Kumar gets to play Sarangi in 'Idarinum'

How come nobody is talking about this album? I just discovered this album randomly on YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=42NYzECoO38  and freaked out that I didn't know about this album till now.

Heard all the songs once. The techno route Raaja seems to be taking these days is not impressing me much.

That last song - Thendral Varum - seems to be the only piece of cake for me.
