From whatever I heard Balu Mahendra's 'Thalaimuraigal' will be in the lines of 'Sandhy Ragam' and 'Veedu'. In the sense that there will be only BGM involved and no songs.

small dig, happen to watch moondram pirai last week, when KH/YGM visit Gandhimathi's house and sneak a peek @ gulabi(s) we get to hear yet another version of 'Thumbi vaa', suffice to say BM is mighty fixated with that tune.

CNC review by a blogger

With a very Carnatic base, Kaalaiyile Maalai Vanthathu is a splendorous listen bolstered by first rate singing from Saptaparna Chakraborty. The choice of instruments like veena and nadaswaram superbly fit in with the synth elements Raaja usually employs.

Nandri Solla vendum is sheer bliss and sees a fabulous arrangement (that flute in the backgrounds!), and equally brilliant is the rendition by P. Karthi and Priyadarshini. Ilaiyaraaja's coarse vocals power the interestingly orchestrated Ungappan Pera Solli, which works well despite all the déjà vu.

Haricharan is stupendous in the mesmerizing synth-coated melody Kallaale Senju Vacha, while Priyadarshini does an adequate job of the same song in its female version.

Maestro Ilaiyaraaja, on the whole, weaves his magic once again in Nila Choru!

Fantastic piece of work. Raja, please take more such assignments. After a very long time, I am hearing a violin score of this quality. When I heard War Horse of JW (I watched this movie in the theatre just for JW), I was longing for when Raja would do something similar. Though I will not compare here (I need to watch this film just for this score), the quality levels of this score are comparable.

There are several occasions when I have felt proud to be a Raja fan:

1. Cheeni Kum score
2. Marupadiyum score
3. Kadhal Kavidhai score
4. Nandalala score
5. Onayum Aatukkuttiyum score

Thanks to Myskkin for making this happen.

Thanks to tamiltunes, I finally got to stream the CNC soundtrack. I had only heard Kallale Senju which didn't do much for me before. But I absolutely loved Kaalaiyile and Nandri Solla. Andha paata compose panadhukey nandri solla vendum. So, my question is, how good/bleak are my chances of owning this album in either CD or digital form? All suggestions are welcome.

CNC is the biggest joke played on Raaja fans. The put a DVDRW and then the songs in the format of a VCD and when extracted they were in the MP3 format. Asked some 10 cds from shops and they said sorry we can buy because the cd has a problem. Even if we report it falls on deaf ears

It will be wise for future RAAJA albums to take the crowd sourcing route or let them sell albums as they did it for the movie megha.

When will they release the audio?

A song in the film involving Anushka, Zara Shah and Nathalia Kaur is being canned in this fourth schedule in a special built set of Antahpuram in Annapurna Studios. Raju Sundaram master is the choreographer. The song which goes with lyrics 'Antahpuramlo andala chiluka.. is penned by Seetha Rama Sastry and Ilayaraja composed the tunes. Thota Tharani erected the sets for the film.

Whattay! Lovely and lilting song from oru oorla. Velmurugan's voice adds to the sexiness. So seducing one. The rhythm synth beats are different, gives a new tone to the song. Interludes are simple, yet very effective. The flow of the song is so good. Cosmic melody for the down-to-earth kuththu paattu. Made my day! Thanks to @sicmafia for sharing on twitter.

Soulful sivaranjani alaap by Swarna with folkish flute for kuyil pattu....
Parijadha poove..... old world charm, Raja induces in his duet.
Who can give Poda poda punnakku other than IR!
Very Happy

Can't wait for some earthy & rustic compositions!

Isaipriya tragedy is being filmed in Kannada

The maestro of Indian film music Ilayaraja the highly respected personality with 926 films to his credit so far was in Bangalore to sing a song in Kannada and score music for 'Yuddabhumiyalli Ondu Hoovu' that is based on a real life incident of Isaipriya a Srilankan who was raped by nine Srilankan soldiers and murder. This is made in three languages by K Ganeshan in SSK Films. JC Gurunath Chalsani is producer of trilingual film.

On his 1000th film preparation the maestro said it was music when I came and it will be music in my 1000th film. 'I am not interested in taking problematic films' - that is because we cannot give solution. I hear to lot of stories and I am the first projectionist.
