கமல் இளயராசா நிகழ்ச்சிகு முழு ரிக்கட்டும் அவுட். இனிமேல் ரிக்கட் வாங்குவதானால் அரசியல் செல்வாக்கு இருக்க வேண்டுமம். அதுவும் புலம் பெயர் தமிழ்த் தேசிய அரசியல் செல்வாக்கு.

வழமையாக பெரிய நிகழ்ச்சி நடக்கும்போது பகிஷ்கரிப்புக்களும் இடம் பெறுவதுண்டு, ஆனால் இம்முறை அப்படியான அதிர்வுகள் இடம் பெறவில்லை.

சென்றதடவை நவம்பர் மாதம் கனடாவில் இசை நிகழ்ச்சி நடாத்தப் புறப்பட்ட இளையராஜா இம்முறை சிக்கல் இல்லாத காலத்தை தேர்வு செய்துள்ளார்.

இங்கிலாந்தில் சுமார் மூன்று இலட்சத்திற்கு மேற்பட்ட புலம் பெயர் தமிழரும், இந்திய மக்கள் பெருந்தொகையாகவும் வாழ்வதால் அரங்கு நிறைந்த பெருங்கூட்டம் காணப்படுமென எதிர்பார்க்கப்படுகிறது.

In the promo video above, KH clearly says that he was NOT part of rehearsals.

That means, he had to be roped in by the organizers to pull crowd (perhaps AFTER seeing the initial ticket response to the program).

Also, he was clearly in no mood to sing, per the promotion interview youtube. OTOH, as per the youtubes above, he was on stage - singing with a 3rd grade female singer inji iduppazhagA :yuck:

And, even to see the 'kAsu mEla kAsu' song in the above list irritates me to no end! (Let it be rAsA's puthran who composed - it still has no reason to be showcased on a rAjA-the-rAjA show where one would typically struggle to limit the selections / choices to 1000 or more, let alone 30-40 songs!)

I wonder whose idea is that

My irritation was so high this AM that I disowned தமிழினம் on twitter and asked rAsA to compose only instrumentals (and classicals, may be oratorios and such kinds of ancient litt.) hereafter, shunning movies / concerts!

I find it hard to understand why he doesn't do this more. Instrumental albums featuring the jazz musicians from Hungary or concertos for solo instruments would be such a great idea and would almost certainly have a good response from millions of musically inclined Raja fans besides making it easier to cross the language barrier.

Rather disappointing to hear of Kamal's unpreparedness.

Only 8000? For that all this fuss?

The concert was attended by close to 8,000 people at the O2 arena in London. Many members of London's Tamil musician community attended the event, including British-Tamil rapper MIA aka Maya Arulpragasam.

Eagerly awaiting some such report. App saar -keep us posted.  . Particularly tamil papers - they never fail to entertain.

Finally, I am going to get ''Raaja Tharisanam'' this December.   

Super excited, apart from the ineluctable worry, that the organizers would turn this in to a travesty with unworthy horrid dance performances , and neck slitting so-called comedy performances.

Looks like dinamalar has some "anti-IR" agenda...earlier it reported about IR's sammAnam in a negative manner highlighting how MSV wasn't even given entry pass to the JJ function celebrating 100 yrs of cinema.

Now, look at how it covers the rAsA-hAsini press meet :

Either there must be some recent dose to the mag from rAsA or the mag is in a "sour-grapes" mode with their recent tiff with JJ. (I read somewhere that TN gov ads had been stopped / reduced to the newspaper and they are turning anti-JJ now)...

One thing interesting about Suhasini's press speech is being careful with specific references - to only herself, rAsA's family (including IR's mom) & her own dad but bucketing everyone else as "biggies" (we can include any name we want, including her hubby and chithappA but she carefully escaped from naming or missing anyone).

IR is Melbourne bound, says ToI

Music maestro Ilayaraja, along with an army of singers, will enthrall music buffs in Melbourne on 28 September. The most awaited Ilayaraja Live In Concert 'Raja Raja Thaan' is set to happen at The Plenary, Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. SP Balasubramaniam, KS Chitra, SP Shailaja, Karthik, Bhavatharini, Yuvan Shankar, Karthik Raja, Madhu Balakrishnan, Chinmayi, Jeyachandran and others will accompany the living legend during the concert.

The London concert, Raja the Raja, proved to be a landmark event as it was the first time that Ilayaraja performed for his fans in the UK. The concert was attended by close to 8,000 people at the O2 arena in London. The maestro is expected to keep the audience spell bound down under as well.
