OMG, IR should stay away from social media which is more toxic than a gas chamber.  He said he even quit reading a newspaper because of too much negativity (Actress Oorvasi seemed to take his advice for good!).  As someone who wants/wanted to keep negativity at bay, I believe it is his team which is doing it for him and that he is not actually reading or following all the trash comments.  If not, someone close to him should advice him to get out of it immediately for his own good.

It is alright if IR is not directly involved, like his Facebook or YouTube channel, though marketing is all his music needs.  Happy that things are moving in the right direction - be it his Spotify venture or Times Square ad or Twitter entry.

Came across a nice article on the evolution of electronic/computer music with Ilaiyaraaja. It is a long read with a lot of links to other articles and YouTube videos of the songs referenced.

Thank goodness; Lidia removed her last post on her community page.  She unintentionally stirred up a hornet's nest, without giving any detail, that attracted pests (fanatics of you-know-who) who poured vitriol on IR, not failing to grab their best opportunity to slander IR.

Also, she has made her last video "unlisted", meaning inaccessible through her YouTube account.  

She also broke my heart in a reply to a comment by someone called "Sudharson", which has been bumped to the very last: She compares IR and you-know-who to Beethoven and Tchaikovsky!  I do not know what to make of her comment after quite an in-depth analysis of a bunch of IR songs.  Is she turning out to be just another YouTuber?  I did get a bit skeptical when she started off with MSV's songs!  Let me hope that things proceed in the right direction!

Not exactly related to this post, but still related to the topic: 

I watched Arvind Swami's interview on Touring Talkies channel (though not a fan of his so-called "acting"; he has very few decent performances like the one in Marubadiyum).  He was being point-blank, quite outspoken (not fully like IR though) and quite diplomatic some times; seemingly an introvert too.  Commenters showered praises on him for being that way using flowery jargon like "good attitude", "confident", "fearless", "others should learn from him" etc.(!), whereas IR speaking that way would have been mauled mercilessly by the same ilk!  This is the BIAS I observed, and how ONLY very few people (mostly IR) are an easy target and scapegoat of cheap media, diplomatic insiders and junkie audience - the social media is a breeding ground and a perfect place for such mean hecklers.

This YT link that @rmdeva has posted on twitter today has some interesting NEW info.

That the famous director duo Robert-Rajasekaran (oru thalai rAgam - pAlaivanachchOlai) had worked with IR for a project and recorded a song (though it did not take off, due to their split) :

The above video also has these two information :

1. Actual MD of oru thalai rAgam was AA Raj (I always suspected it, though it is clear TR wrote the lyrics and even did the melody for some of them).

2. Robert-Rajasekar did the actual "direction" of OTR (besides doing camera work).

Of course, the other pieces of information thrown in just like that have already been captured by me elsewhere - that R-R have introduced both SAR & Vidyasagar / SAR wrote a lot of lyrics / Rajasekar (actor of ponmAlaippozhudhu) got into financial struggle later on etc.

In the oruthalai ragam movie, IR's name will be mentioned in a scene:)

Rare case of IR getting into political controversy - compared Modi to B R Ambedkar in his foreword to a book :

Just like Vijay, Kamal, Rahman or whoever else, Ilaiyaraaja states his opinion. He has a right to his opinion and is free to say it.  

If you agree with his views, like I do, enjoy it...if you dont like it, ignore it.  

But these militant responses against anyone who says anything positive about BJP is a sad sate in TN.

Kr, the problem is not just saying something positive about BJP, that would not have invited any ire..it is the comparison with a tall icon like Ambedkar that has invited ire and you can easily understand it. IR could have just praised Modi and left the comparison alone..
