raajafm.com during the morning drive to work today.

They were playing some happy / bubbly songs with IR's voice (kadha kELu kadha kELu from MMKR, nEththu oruththara oruththaru pAththOm from pudhuppAttu etc)

Suddenly there was a piece from HTNI and I got confused (as to how this fits into this series...are they going to change the theme because it is 8 AM now... do they follow USA Eastern time etc)

However, I got the answer as the piece progressed That is the one with the "vocals" (two male voices singing swarams that sounds like a musical conversation)

The series continued with another kadha kELu song (karimEdu karuvAyan)

Anyways, this radio is definitely enjoyable for rides

I think I'll make this station default for my morning commute going forward

They were playing a mix of HTNI & NBW tracks this morning

When the drums started powerfully at about 12 min into the track, I got so overwhelmed that the eyes welled up and vision got totally blurred

Now, that could be trouble when you're at 70+ mph!

So, keep such dangers in mind when you're listening to IR while driving!

This radio is disappointing... plays a limited set of songs over and over... Why do they play instrumental covers of IR's songs? on top of that today I heard an instrumental version of athisaya raagam!
Give them access to the entire vault of IR's songs and  for god's sake use a decent shuffling system!

Agree with writeface. Sampled the songs today.
Heard many "not so frequent" nunbers like the rare SirgAzhi Govindarajan song from "BadrakALi", a rare GA-Sashireka duet from "kElviyum nAnE badhilum nAnE" amidst populars like "vechaalum vekkAma ", "rAja rAja chOzhan dhAn" .

Why the heck are these guys playing MSV numbers like
"vasantha kAla nadhiyinilE"? Even the previous song did not sound
like an IR number. Or is it like any other general radio station catering to
all MD's? onnum puriyala

I did listen to the same song yesterday morning

While I otherwise like this MSV number, it wasn't palatable to listen to from raajafm.com, where one tunes to with an expectation of "IR-exclusivity"!

I don't think the paiyyans who run this station read any of the tweets / posts about these misses 

Absolutely worst possible selection of songs. More than half the songs they play are unlistenable. Some  are so bad I am not even sure if they are IR compositions or SA Rajkumar, Chandrabose ones that somehow found their way to the playlist.

Surprised to hear them playing a duet song from 'un samaiyal aRaiyil' (eeramAy eeramAy).

This is perhaps the first "new millennium" song I've heard getting played on raajafm.com (and I've been listening to this every now and then while driving, in the past few months)!

Another observation - they have probably played EVERY song that Napoleon had ever sung   

It must be one of his friends operating this platform

One reason I kept listening to them all these days, however, is this "lot of songs unknown to me" that got featured most of the times! (however thrAbai some of them sounded)

It is like going to an IR concert where MOST of the songs will be those "not heard before"

I'm not sure how many of those claiming to be IRFs will dare go to a concert where IR declares that "All the songs that will be played in this concert (or most of them) are those you have not heard before"
(I would love to go to such a concert by him - especially if those are from unreleased / yet to be released albums / movies).

For many months, to me, raajafm.com had been like going to such a concert - on a number of days

From last weekend, I hear a lot of Telugu songs on this radio.

While most songs heard so far were from 70's dubbed movies, I was in for a pleasant surprise this AM

Yes, they played PUNNAMI POOVAI of rudhramA dEvi!

What a sweet song it is!

Interestingly, they played andhappuramulO immediately after this song (which is somewhat unusual, as they don't play the same movie's songs one after another normally).

Anyways, like in any radio listening, such surprises make it worthy!
