The latest news is that Lahari Music has bagged the music rights of Rudramadevi for a fancy amount. The makers are planning to release the audio in the third week of February and the film in summer 2015

Solid song, solid rendition as always by Deivakkuzhandhai. But Auna Neevena is something else for now!

Atrocity (in a great way) from Chechi. She sounds almost like Usha Uthup! Not sure if I dig the song as such now. But her rendition

Heard the three songs and have no doubt that this album is going to be a stunner.. Whatta Strings n guitar notes.. And above all  instantly connecting melodies.. Thank you Raaja.

Oh man Auna Neevena is incredible. I'm expecting V_S saar to get tears. I was just able to control in the nick of time when the song ended. The closing pallavi is all sorts of magic. The cello (?) that is in harmony with the lead vocals is that tipping point.

All the song he gently takes us to the top of the cliff. Gentle and breezy at the same time brilliance shining through. By the end of the pallavi we are on the top of the cliff. That final cello harmony with vocals is the push, we just float and fly, to borrow a Mysskin analogy. Song is nothing else other than stunning brilliance. Reams deserve to be written about the interludes anyway. If you listen to guitar arpeggios, and strumming n melody in guitar in second interlude,  in Shreya Ghosal song, you ll fly  even higher..

Auna Neevena - Song not just for all seasons, song for any time of the day. It will tear our lazy mornings to inject breath of fresh air. It will keep us engaged during dull afternoons, will decorate our family room during evenings, and will put us to nice sleep in the night. More later...

Heard the first two, yet to get to chithra-baba sehgal waala song.  

First impressions: great orchestration and outstanding charanams.  I won't say the pallavis were bad but didn't really grab me.  Singing was okie-dokie.  This type of film and the music it requires doesn't really give much scope for IR to get all subversive in the way he can (like rich bombast in the interludes contrasted with very quiet accompaniment in the charanam in Sattru Munbu).  It feels brilliant but conventional.  It worked superbly the first time he composed this type of music, which imo would be Sundari Kannal Oru Seithi and to a lesser extent the music of Dhalapathi in general.  On subsequent iterations, it is a bit predictable but I'll take it in the current musically depraved climate.  It is my fault also for searching for dissonance all the time but it is he who has pampered me so to expect it.

My thoughts exactly. I dont know why but I was not blown away by the quality of melody (Sri Rama Rajyam grabbed me instantly). Not that its bad, they are decent melodies. But given the hype around this film's music and also the man behind it - "not bad" means not great enough and there lies "some" disappointment.

Another soothing melody in the album,anthapuramlo,  with excellent orchestration. Strings and oboe highlights..

Full of praises - just for record.

Both SPB songs sound very good - but the other four easily overtake these two per my personal taste
(Main reason could be I don't understand the pAdal varigaL - I can't compare them with Adhi ushus, for e.g.).

Terrific album, overall!

Heard 4 songs out of 6 in Rudramadevi, the most awaited Telugu album for me after "Sri Rama Rajyam".
Found 3 of these to my liking. My list in that order :
1. Antahpuram lo - Heaved a sigh of relief when 2 other youthful female voices made up for Sadhana. Loved the song's laid-back drawl and the coy vocal parts. A very "girly" song which may not find men's favour. So what? I am lapping it like I did for "malar vililE" - 'Ponnar Sankar'.
2. Punnami puvvai - Goes to show how mastery in the art of vocals can pole vault the song and its listener well above seventh heaven. Shreya, all the way.
3. Auna neevena - Wonderful, breezy melody with apt orchestral backing. But heavily let down by Sadhana's ageing vocals. How I wish Raja paid Shreya's price for this one too!!

Choosukovo theesukovo - outright rejected.
