Interesting that both BCCI and ICC have refused to recognize this but news reports in newspapers suggest Dhoni will inaugurate this and play with intl cricketers. Of course, all those managed by Rhiti will take part.

how does BCCI manage to antagonize each of the host board before the tour begin lol!

I expect SL be added to this club if Ind gets whitewashed in odies and given our Kaptaan

Pakistan FTW!! Dei Dhoni maNdayA, look at Misbah, learn da, learn. As much as they only beat a shitty team like Lanka, chasing 302 in 57 overs is quite some doing. Especially when team India fans defend Dhoni for not going after WI to chase a less than 5 rpo target with 20 overs in hand.

Nail meet hammer. As early as day 4, this match had been given up for a draw by people I know who were following the match. I thought Pak had an opening at stumps when SL began to collapse but man, what a chase. I really cannot fathom why people feel compelled to defend India's uber-defensive tactics in Tests, especially abroad. It is one of the main reasons India's away record is poor. It's not just about skills, they have also let many opportunities to win series pass them by. Sydney 2004, Durban & Cape Town 2006, it's a long list. The fact that MSD did not want to chase at Dominica even with the series in the bag really exposed the extent of his safety first approach.

Well, they can now blackmail other teams into preparing real flat pitches even more effectively. Adutha tharava aadamaaten, mind it. They will have to poruthu-fy some marana-adi in Aus and Eng but all they have to do is win one series against either to pacify our low expectations. Isn't that what happened in 2013? Aus 4-0 adichappram, as if Eng 2-1 never happened.

^^^ Correct. Greedy peruchaalli is unable to contain his hunger. Now he is walking inside the trap and eventually Eng and Aus will shut out the other teams and rule the game again. BBL has already caught some good following after a slow start. Once they start making enough money that doesn't depend on Indian team's participation, they will think of drawing up a new agreement.

Wiz - you have a point, Maybe, he wanted to co-opt ECB and spoil their reputation in England. Maybe he was the one who leaked the news that ECB is in bed with BCCI, enough to antagonise England followers. It's certainly working - Guardiyan forum, even Telegrpah forum, even Daily Mail are all clearly against the proposal and anyone supporting is dubbed as a ECB mole by fans.

But Clarke is not a dumbo - his plan might be to somehow occupy the tent

That is interesting, if true. It would indeed not take much to beat Aussie viewership numbers (average viewership for second innings was 973000, it seems) but are even those numbers of Indians watching BBL? It's timings clash with our workdays so unless it's a weekend, it can't be getting too much attention in India. I haven't yet met anybody who watches BBL in India, or only casually at that. I mean, it DOES beat most other weekend afternoon programming.

play domestic in Oz/Eng.

Ash is Shastrival 2.0 if he doesn't recognize this fact. a year from now I could see him coaching in Chettinad cricket academy or giving his expert
opinion in ToI Sennai edition.
