An observation: based on youtube views and number of comments Psycho songs have overshadowed Thamizharasan.  Only in the world of our Isaignani such a thing happens!  Rajakku potti rajave!

I liked the 2 melodies. Especially the song by Raaja and Neeti Mohan. It felt like a throwback to a song in Kaalapani. This one is beautifully arranged and has wonderful melody. 

My only gripe - Is it only me who feels that the mixing of this song is little messed up? I can barely hear Raaja's vocals, for they are drowned beneath other layers. I tried listening in multiple platforms - it is the same. Does anyone else feel the same?

When Raja sir starts with Deham idhu thenaa, the voice goes a tad into the background.  I bought the song on itunes.  The quality is better than on youtube.  It is a knockout song.  For me the song takes me to Megha not Kaalapani.
What a year 2020 is turning out to be already!

Sid's maiden film music effort is also interesting, though might be too far out for those interested in conventional Tamil music. Overall, this year is off to a rocking start. Nice to hear a marana mass song (Tamilanoda) after a long time from the maestro, wishing Sid hadn't sung it. I chuckled when that trademark guitar lick came in. Back to the 80s but modernised with those Anirudh-like synthesizer tones (but without Anirudh thalavali beats). Yaavum yaavume is magnificent, another Celtic Raja beauty.

Psycho is a superb experiment in a minimalist sound which appears to be contemporary but is really even more traditionally baroque than before. Loved all three songs but Thaimadiyil is my favourite.

Ravinat - echo your sentiments!  What a composition.  I am going to watch it again just for the score.  Some of the pieces that stick to the mind are the one when the abduction is about to take place at the station and the phenomenal climax in the psycho's lair.  Yes, the visuals are finally catching up.  However, I was a bit disappointed about Neenga Mudiyuma being interspersed with talk (it suit the picture perfectly though.  Excellent scene overall - just our Maestro's music got a bit drowned in the process).

Paakurappo - I forgot to mention - it is like a choreography with music. He creates a stage where different dancers come and go wearing different colored costumes and the play goes on. Some actors move backstage and others come to the front and all of them take turns. That's the beauty of the composition.

Any indication that Mysskin would release the entire Psycho soundtrack (background score) as an album?

As pointed out by many IRF's the first line resembles "அஞ்சு கஜம் காஞ்சிப்பட்டு" and afterwards it takes a different trip - something observed in a few other IR songs as well. 

Also, there's some "இளங்காத்து வீசுதே" feel in the saraNam take-off!

Soothing to listen to; feels like oasis in the desert.  Both voices suit the song.  

Hilarious to see a ton of spam comments there, while looking for genuine ones!

If I remember, Jithin was a contestant in Airtel Super Singer-3, the last one I ever watched before getting fed up with annoying antics of the judges.  Later, it turned into a "Super entertainer" "show(-off)" with cacophonic songs, soap-opera-like milking sentiments with sob stories and "judges" acting like paid clowns.

Yet another gem, but this time from the family.  Was this the same movie which was advertised as the trio (IR, YSR and KR) composing for the first time together, OR is it a different movie?  I don't see KR's name or stamp anywhere.

Heart-warming video to see the father-son duo interaction.  A keeper, for sure.  I don't know about others, but, to me, the entire song (Tune + orchestration) seems to have more of IR's handiwork than YSR's.

I felt a very mellifluous and slow version of "Kudhikkira kudhikkira kudhura kutti" from ASK, in the pallavi, while the overall feel of orchestration reminds one of "Elangaathu veesudhe" from Pithaamagan.  But it is still a DIFFERENT song from any of those.

After Psycho, Raja's tunes keep reminding you of some of his old tunes. That is not a good sign. We have come to expect Raja to depart from his huge list of compositions and provide fresh tunes, that we can never expect. His gamanam tune reminded me of 'Auna Nuveena' and now this...

The groove in this song reminds you of 'Ilankaathu Veesudhe'. Beyond that, there is no similarity.

Apart from the Psycho tunes, the last great ones were from Dhoni/Un Samaiyal Araiyil/Rudramadevi and even the one song from Merku Thodarchi Malai. 

No rehash Raja!
