On Simply South OTP channel, Sivaranjaniyum Sila Pengalum tamil movie by Vasant was added last week and it has music by Ilaiyaraaja. The opening credits lists about 10 film festivals where the movie was screened. The opening credits did not indicate any singers or song writers, so I am assuming there were no songs. The background music for the opening credits was melodious. (As the first scene of the movie was about an uncaring husband slapping his wife, my wife didnt allow me to proceed watching the movie any further - need to watch it later).

Interesting that the censor certification is dated Dec 2020. I had not heard that this movie was out.

I am addicted to this song. The twist and turns that the melody takes in the charanam, the guitar background in the pallavi and interludes, bagpiper bits in the interludes, Ilaiyaraaja's voice make this song heavenly.

A couple of other points: there is a folk song in this album "Poombarai" ....another outstanding song especially the orchestration shows how IR has no equals when it come to orchestration. The song ends with a solo nadhaswaram providing a goosebumby finale to the song.

Both "Clap" and this album has great guitar based songs.
