I know the sort of effort you put but honestly you should not putting it. They are the ones who gain by CD sales and I am not convinced that across Tamil Nadu 500CDs will not sell. They are businessmen and they cannot sit back and say we will not take a risk. Why should fans be made to commit to buy a CD? Let them go the pre-order route or i-Tunes route or whatever. But it is their job to get the CD / music out. If they are not getting it out, then someone like Karthik Raja mus intervene and tell the producers that they will not do music for any producer who cannot release the music. They are trying to take advantage of sincere fans like you and that rankles me. You do all the effort and they make all the money !!!

I agree with Suresh ji. It's paining to see Kamesh doing all the hard work and these companies make easy money out of his and Maestro's hardwork. Yes, we should not be doing that at all. As I said many times, I have not heard this kind of pessimistic marketing. Even a small shop or a home run restaurant first prepare the items first. They don't look for customers first and then start to prepare. It is hugely humiliating about their thinking that Maestro's music won't sell. This sets a very very bad precedent and should not be allowed at all. Shameless fellows!

Just another thought. These companies don't even need to run anywhere. If they would have prepared the CDs and opened a temporary shop near the Madurai auditorium (where Maestro's recent show was held),  all CDs would have sold immediately. If they are so skeptical, why did they even come forward to grab the audio rights? And what they are going to gain by releasing in YT? They only promote piracy. Idiotic ideas.

Maybe Samir Jain's entire budget has gone to Ab Ki Baar Modi Sarkar so they can't spare money to even print a few CDs.

I am appalled by the entire episode, it's an insult to Ilayaraja.

like suresh said yes it is not about fans not willing to commit to cd. its a joke that if fans can come to madurai all over from india canada malaysia but copyright owner thinks they will not spare minimal rupees to buy.. cd... just a false portrayal. remember agi music. after copyright the cds released were pathetic quality. and legally no one else can release those albums as well.!
well. we are used to songs being awesome cant wait for movie and still movie not released forever. now this is new disturbing start youtube is good but cd not released. i twitted to ilaiyarajafans and did reply all to tweet which said mobile tunes. if they can post youtube and mobiletunes and when we ask when is cd release no answer. totally bizzare, unless IR himself knows has acknowledged during copyrights that cd may or may not be released. going to try emailing newly launched fanclub to see any response.  

gone are days where tea shop owner plays LP record even when cassettes were available and fans were able to get LP to tdk t-series instead of company cassettes from street. It seem if fan wants to listen to new IR albums should have a computer or apple product. as far as movie promotion goes well and revenue collected is enough. bad trend. IR associated with myskin for nandalala and movie never released. he was irked and stopped working with myskin.

Forget about the CDs, what I don't understand with the audio release of Oggarane / Ulavacharu Biryani is that why its not even released on iTunes / Google Play Music. More obscure albums like Thandavakone and Sengathu Boomiyile got released on iTunes. 

Why are they making it so difficult to procure audio CDs of IR's new albums? Is the market for audio CDs really dead in India or is it only the case for IR's music albums?

BTW, have been listening to Oggarane and Ulavacharu Biryani a lot since last week. It's been a delightful album for me so far and a bit lightweight in terms of the emotions dealt with, could be due to the script. Like various aspects in each of the 4 songs, will probably post more details after listening to the Tamil version as well.

Now oggarane/ulavachoru biryani..all can see is "audio release" function..no clue what was released..now only mobile tunes not even itunes..

tracks are themselves very good with good orchestration and experimentations..something like nandalala Paa maayakannadi ..fingers crossed hope they release audio cd when tamil version is released 2morrow i guess..lets see..it is just pointless withholding cd and just releasing tunes..with technology available already we can see lot of mp3s' ripped from single you tube track. if aim is to stop piracy they are failing..better off releasing cd so fans can enjoy..again its upto producer/director it seems..everyone have their own ideas of how they want to release audio..gone are days where we can just pickup in store..as far as cd sales dead..no..check flipkart amazon 600024 all latest cds are selling then why not this album?

irfan:  Megha CD was actually available on ilayathaalam.com, at least at the time of the audio launch.  That's where I got mine.  Even net payment and all was quite convenient.  Don't know what's the current status given there's no news about the film.

Thank you Kamesh for your efforts.  I am quite disappointed with the audio company as well.  What baffles me is, even if they do not want to release the CDs without some assurance from buyers, why could they not just set up a preorder website to collect the advance?  Once they hit the magic no. they can release the CDs.

It's not only about money, Kamesh's pleading trips, time and requesting efforts to music label company, it's about Ilayaraja as a musician, these fellows manipulative attitude.
Ilayaraja's folks are not aware of it or they know , Ok with it or least care... whatever!   No need to get overboard!

The audio of Un Samayal Araiyil the Tamil version of the tri-lingual directed by Prakash Raj will be released on April 14 which is the Tamil New Year day. It was earlier supposed to release on April 8 but it has been postponed probably for releasing it on a special occasion.

Both of the versions are released in Google Play Music as well which usually has a higher bitrate (320 kbps) than iTunes.

IR audio release on Sun TV

The audio launch of Prakash Raj's Un Samayal Araiyil will be telecast live on Sun TV on April 14th, 2014, which happens to be the Tamil New Year's Day. The film is a trilingual directed and produced by Prakash Raj who also plays the lead role in it. Sneha is paired up with the star in this film.

The film starring Prakash Raj and Sneha in the lead roles has S.P. Balasubrahmanyam, Urvashi, Samyuktha Belawadi and Sihi Kahi Chandru playing supporting roles with music composed by Ilaiyaraja. The highlight of this audio launch would be the participation of maestro Ilayaraja, who is said to have scored some extraordinary numbers for this album.

yay.. already bought the kannada and telugu versions.. surprise is the price of the album - just $3.96.
am sure that the album is worth much more than this price..

enna lyrics idhellAm   there was so much build up that Raaja has tuned a poem written by Pazhani Bharathi   

Sharath's rendition and the lyrics in Telugu is my only pick - among all songs, all languages. Kaatru veLiyil's lyrics is mostly the same as the telugu version - (to my limited telugu knowledge, that is) - as if it is a direct translation but it sounds *so good* in Telugu. The choice of words, the flow. Complements the song excellently.

oka pilupuku vEchunnA - simple yet so effective with the tune and Sharreth sings it so well, so much feelings

Yes, I am bit allergic towards pazhani bharathi ..missing na. muthukumar. but I guess pazhani bharathi was just asked to take the concepts from telugu and run with it..I think they started with kannada (prakash raj's first language) and started tweaking the lyrics. Muthukumar would have wanted to do fresh lyrcis.

The tamil mix is a bit compromised. The voice is a bit low compared to the instruments. It is actually interfering with the enjoyment of the whole tamil album. Especially, for a song like kaaRRu veliyinil which is soft and for not-so-bold IR's voice ..this is not working out.
