Back to the album, asking out of pure blissful ignorance, anybody knows what this movie is supposed to be about? Is it set in pattanam or pattikattu, thriller a drama a, etc etc.

Karagam title suggests it is rural based, rustic film on the plight of a Karagattakaaran. Bala can come up with a good screenplay. maN vAsanai/nativity endha aLavukku varum'nu therila to be honest but music will take care of the nativity (Hey Bala, enna Himalayan blunder seyya irundha GVP'ya book senju!) But Sasikumar is the hero. Mild beedhi enters there. But I guess Bala has no producers/distributors to back him after the commercial failures of Avan Ivan and Paradesi. And most likely that Sasikumar is the producer here.

As long as the film gets released.  No updates on Megha, hope it gets a release.  Doesn't matter if it doesn't do that well but if it doesn't even get a release, that would be a real pity.

That aside, click on the link from his FB page. He's linked it from 1 minute, after all the music is done   no idea why. But yeah, these look-ma-I-yam-neutral-music-fan-who-appreciates-all-composers-and-be-it-G Ramanathan-or-MSV-or-KVM-or-IR-or-ARR-they-are-all-the-same-different-eras-different-legends-you-need-a-level-of-understanding-to-understand-this level guys find mass acceptance under the umbrella, "music freak/buff/vegetable puff".

I didnt see what you are referring to but I saw this in a Gounder-Senthil blog post he has written that was jhalaked there:

Hope this "continuous 19 hour" is simbly an exaggeration...he should care about his health at this time

Legendary music director Ilayaraja spent a continuous 19 hours recording songs for Director Bala's upcoming film. Earlier Ilayaraja has composed 12 songs in six days for the film and the song recording was done with real folk artists and musicians with no film experience. This new yet untitled film, has actor director sasikumar as producer and the lead and the shooting will commence from march this year. There are also expectations of ilayaraja writing some lyrics as he did for other films of bala.

Too tempting to listen to the soundtrack, but hearing when they are going to start shooting from March 1, varra azhuga kooda ninnuthu, hahaa. This one might release in 2016 considering Bala's film. It would be a long wait till we hear the music.

I think this kind of hype/publicity is so done-to-death types. I remember reading a news article that Raaja composed 36 songs in a day for a film named Ajantha. And when the album released, we realized that it was actually a 9 song album in 4 languages. And those 9 songs too had some repeats. 

While I do appreciate the fact that some news keeps trickling in, I feel the media must move from this standard template reporting consisting of buzzwords such as "8 songs composed within 3 hours flat", "all songs recorded live", "Raaja praised the film and took special care in composing BGMs" etc. I'd rather prefer some more informative stuff like the article about the music of Padithurai (that the music is stuck in cans is a different matter and unfortunate). The article gave details about the kind of songs we can expect (and we continue to expect the album).

Update from Suga in FB about a song that Sharath has sang for Raja in the upcoming Bala film. Sharath is a trained kickass singer (MBK student) and my expectation from this album just went sky high...

On the other hand, there are reports that she (Shreya) will be seen in director Bala's next Karagattakaran, a film based on the Tamil folk dance. Sasikumar is said to be playing the lead. Music maestro Ilaiyaraja is scoring the music for the film. Though nothing has been confirmed, if the actress indeed manages to bag the role, it would be a big break for her.

App - Composer Sharreth. He is a HUGE HUGE raaja fan. So very glad that this has happened. News of the day.

Also isn't Suka making his next(!) with Raaja music?

சமீபத்தில் இயக்குநர் பாலாவின் புதிய படத்துக்கான இசைக் கோர்ப்புப் பணிகளில் பிஸியாக உள்ளார் இளையராஜா.

அவரை தன் மகனுடன் சென்று பிரசாத் ஒளிப்பதிவு கூடத்தில் நேரில் சந்தித்தார் இயக்குநர் மகேந்திரன். அவரை இயக்குநர் பாலாவும் கவிஞர் நா முத்துக்குமாரும் வரவேற்று அழைத்துச் சென்னர்.

ஒலிப்பதிவுக் கூடத்தில் அமர்ந்து ராஜாவின் இசைக் கோர்ப்பை ரசித்த மகேந்திரன், பாலா படத்துக்கு ராஜா இசையமைத்த சில புதிய பாடல்களைக் கேட்டு ரசித்தார். இருவரும் சில நிமிடங்கள் தங்களின் அடுத்த படங்கள் குறித்து பேசிக் கொண்டிருந்தனர்.

மகேந்திரன் இயக்கவிருக்கும் புதிய படத்துக்கும் ராஜாதான் இசையமைக்கிறார் என்ற பேச்சுகள் கிளம்பியுள்ளன.

I'm not terribly excited about a project by Mahendran at this point of time, but an interesting news nevertheless...

We will have to wait to know whether the music for this film will be scored by Maestro Ilayaraja who is commands reverence from both the filmmakers associated with this project.
