Posting a song from Raaja's latest devotional album Sri Ramana Aaram ..
Have been really impressed by some of the songs in the album , one song which has mesmerised and made me listen to a lot is Ramanan Pol..It has a meditative effect and guess best listened to in the morning hours..Its a divine composition in Ragam Gamanashrama sung by Maestro himself with beautiful instrumental backing in the form of Veena and Flute.
I beleive there is only one other song composed in this ragam viz Oru Pooncholai from Vaathiyar Veettu Pillai.

It is not available in Flipkart or any online shop.
It is a set of 2 Volumes Rs 50 each.Maestro Ilayaraaja has written the lyrics, composed, sung and produced the albums himself and made all the funds proceeded from the same go to Sri Ramanasharm only.

1) Call Mr Muruganandam No. 9444200911. He has a number of copies. You can mention to him saying you are my friend and arrange for collecting it. I got my copy from him outside Anna Centenary Library.

London Orchestra again

Director Gunasekhar says music maestro Ilayaraja plans to record songs for upcoming Telugu period drama "Rudrama Devi" with the London Symphony orchestra.

"Since it's a period film, Raja sir insisted that we record the songs with the London Symphony orchestra. He has already composed six songs for the album and we will start recording very soon with the orchestra in London," Gunasekhar, who is directing and producing the film, told IANS.

Now this is going to rock!!!! I think it can even surpass NEPV, because the music is likely to be more classical/folk oriented, given that it is a period film. Bring it on Raaja!

Right now Gunasekhar is sitting with Ilayaraja to bring out extraordinary tunes for ‘Rudramadevi’. The duo will be now heading for Symphony Studio in London for the remix of songs. Our director has given a massive publicity to this episode, but failed to get required attention. It is simple, as many films of Ilayaraja are getting recorded in London these days, people haven’t showed interest.

rudramAdEvi padappidippu thuvakkam

The shooting muhurtha of India's first historical stereoscopic 3d movie 'Rudramadevi' has been done in Warangal thousand pillars temple at 12.22 hrs on 14th February. Anushka plays the title role and Rana plays the character of Chalukya Veerabhadra in this film.
Gunasekhar is directing and producing the film under Guna team works banner. 'Maestro' Ilayaraja is the music director

What are the audio releases expected this year?

There are some news about Rudramma Devi, ULavacharu Briyani, NilachOru, EMSum PeNkuttiyum, Touring Talkies, Happi and now Onaayum Aattukuttiyum. Apart from this, there is a regular Sathyan Anthikkad's film, which I think we can expect songs from this film this year. Are we also expecting songs from the above films this year or is it targeted next year?

Speaking to CE, Ashwin discloses, “The film is directed by Karthik Rishi, a former assistant to Subramania Siva. We started the shoot in September and the filming is in its final stages now.” The highlight will be the music by none other than the legendary Ilayaraja.

Listening to it on Spotify. Seems like totally synthesizer driven (traditional instruments are sampled and played using the keyboard). Slightly a 'bright' sound. Real instruments will have a relaxed soothing sound. Album seems good, yet to 'get into' the songs.

There are many iffy things, the biggest if being whether IR will be part of any future Balki venture (considering he didn't score for English Vinglish produced by Balki directed by his wife Gowri).

However, it doesn't hurt to post the above link which at least gives one "confirmed" news - that Sridevi is doing a future project with Balki. (Not clear who will direct - Balki or his wife & that may decide who will be the MD).

However, Ilayaraja has composed the music for Gundello Godari, which has become a big hit in the market, besides adding lot of hype to the movie. Trade experts feel that Gundello Godari is carrying lot of positive buzz, when compared to Mahankali. So it is likely to lead the race at the Box Office.

Art director and visual effects do a commendable work. The floods are recreated superbly. Maestro Ilayraja`s two songs are good. Editing should have been crispier. Looks like producer Lakshmi Prasanna has spent lot of money to bring the best visual output.
The new director Kumar Nagendra shows much promise. He has made the movie realistically. He has also used some popular hit songs from 80`s throughout the movie to add authenticity
