The cassette of Bhrathan seems to have another inlay card, informing some "parisuppOtti"...look at the pictures :

GA directed "chinnavar" it seems...it had the famous 'andhiyilE vAnam' song that got featured in the doordharshan special program on IR...

Famous Malayalam director Bharathan made 'AvArampoo' around this time in Thamizh...with that pAvam-looking-nephew of Shobana, Vineeth. Nice songs there :

Years before people started using movie songs / preludes / interludes etc as "ringtones" in their cellular phones, we had the prelude of this song as the "music-on-hold" for our factory PABX...Since we were designing / building those switching equipments in our place, there was a test system on "field trial" for our own campus; the engineer of the model was a big fan of TFM and he recorded this prelude into the EPROM chip that served music to people who are put on hold by the operator (when dialling into our campus)...

That's how and when I first heard this awesome prelude! (The song in total is not a big fav, just ok, but orch & SJ are terrific)

BTW, I recently heard 'pattuppoovE, mettuppOdu' (for the first time) from those DTS samples Wizzy gave - what a terrrrrrific orch! (Of course Mano tries to kill the fire but SJ nullifies his negatives)...

Few by Vali and one by GA - that horror srilankA kopparaththEngA I thought that too was by Vali. In any case, many people think 'machchAna vachchukkadi' of NPP as GA's and karichchukkottify him for double meaning there, which was actually by Vali.

There are another 6 disks (possibly CD, mostly combos) by AVM that are hosted in musicalaya which I suspect from the 1992 (may be some from 1993)...and would like to post them now.

They don't have nice pictures at all All with a "logo-like" rAsA pic. In some, you can see lyricist credits but in others that part is not scanned properly.

Let me post them here anyways...

Some very nice songs from these movies (pAdhakkolusu / adhO andha nadhiyOram)

These two are definite 1992 - dEvar magan & kOvil kALai (DM supposedly competed with rOjA for NA that year, inji iduppazhagi got NA for SJ...)

Likewise, pANdiyan should be a 1992-er...there's also this chinna mAplE combined with that (kAdhOram lOlAkku is a big fav with me)

Next is this dharmaseelan & sakkarai thEvan combo :

The last one from that package is a solo, araNmaNaikkiLi - Raj Kiran's big hit movie...

Hereafter, I'm not going to seriously worry about which exact year some album appeared...after all, it's after 1992 - who cares

I'll keep posting ANY IR album cover at the musicalaya site that has not appeared on this thread so far. (I don't think there are that many left anyways).

I should be done with this exercise in a few days...and after that, we'll have to look for newer sources to get vinyl covers (or hope that musicalaya will keep adding them)

So, it's treasure hunt time from now on!

Also, it looks like some of the links of pictures posted earlier no longer work (i.e the early ones using the imageshack that was available then).

I'll need to fix such links and make sure all the pictures can be seen...another exercise left for this thread
