I heard from the main forum that the mobile view is still in beta, but still there should be no issues in navigating. Please let me know the device you are using, just in case to try and replicate your problem.

Friends,
I have structured our forum a bit. The main forum topic still says "Anything and Everything Ilaiyaraja", which does not go well with the sub forums. Please let us know your suggestions on the main forum topic title. I have also moved the respective topics to related forums. Please let me know if we need to change the title of anything. Actually those who created the thread, can change the title, if not please let me know. We would like to know you valuable suggestions to improve our forum. Also please suggest a good description of each forum, just like grouch added a beautiful description on Ilaiyaraaja forum.

Please note I have temporarily moved Nadigar Thilagam thread to Tamil Film Section, but if that needs to be on a separate forum, please let me know. Similarly for Kamal and Rajini topic, if that has to be on a separate forum, we can create it that way.

Thanks

I guess we can invite suggestions for the title from all the members for a period of time and then decide on one. (The decision can either be democratic or otherwise).

My suggestions :

Talk anything

And we have a talk

(both are minor variations of track titles from HTNI Laughing That way, IR is still hidden in the site name)

A couple other generic names :

Let's discuss... (or Let's talk)

What's on your mind? (or What do you think?)

Connoisseurs' confluence

Junction of informed (or "vivaram uLLOr koodum idam" / "budhdhisAlikaL koottaNi" )

hmmm...nAn mattum maNdapaththil thaniyA koovikkittu irukkEn...

V_S, I feel the UI is a bit wanting on the Android phone and tablet I use to access the forumm. Main issues are - unable to resize and unable to navigate to the right page, for eg. clicking on a topic takes me to the first page and I have to hit next many times to get to the last page. Easiest thing would be to make the title point to the last page. Better thing would be to provide the numbered links even in the mobile version.

V_S, main intent is for you guys to continue talk about Ilayaraja and his works. But since we are branching out, we can change but need to maintain Ilayaraja at the title.

Maybe Ilayaraja and Beyond (I am again copying Bond and Beyond forum), or Ilayaraja and More.

Both names sound fine to me Smile

Alternatively, we can have some rAjAish names ("The Raajjiyam", for e.g.) Smile

I see.. I can see the numbered links on iPad, not tried on Android. Let me see if we can get to the last page by clicking the title.

Meanwhile, please try clicking the 'Classic Version' link (by scrolling down) and see it that works from your mobile.

Thanks. We have a Forum Display title (with IR picture) and main forum title. I think we should change both of them to "Ilayaraja and Beyond" or "Ilayaraja and More", so that both will be in sync, correct?

One tip to get to the last post/page of a last topic discussed from our home page.

If we look at the main table or grid which lists all the forums, in the 'Last Posts' column, there is a tiny image next to the user who posted the last post. If you click that image, it will directly take you the last page/post of that topic. I have recently added a link on 'Last Posts' column which tells what was the recent topic (which was posted), but it only takes you to the first page of that topic. But, by clicking this image, it will take you to the last page/post. Hope it helps!

How about Raajaa Rajyam (this will make V_S happy), but then sounds redundant.

I object to "Ilayaraja and beyond" - because there is nothing beyond Ilaiyaraja Smile

Ok I am just kid-gloveing. Sounds good to me.

Did you guys make any update (to the look-feel among other things) during the weekend? I am having a real hard time accessing this from the office (I have tried on IE7/IE9 and chrome). It was working fine from home yesterday. Its extremely slow from the office and the images (emoticons etc.) are not getting rendered.

Also just experienced what Kiru has mentioned in this page. In Android phones/tablets the mobile version loads by default, which looks good. But it always loads the pages in ascending order without a way to get to the last page. I understand this might be global and you guy may not be able to fix it though..

How about to thread for Current affairs-Politics,Business etc.

With the quality of people here,am sure it will not degenerate to verbal diarrhoea.

If it gets into mudslinging, lock and throw it into the dustbin.

Youtube embedded video player doesnt render on FF17 but works on IE9. The whole site doesn't render on Chrome. Not sure if it's a known issue.

I found a solution for the Youtube issue in Firefox, have to disable Flashplayer's protected mode - [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] I don't think it was specific to our forum but in general I was not able to play youtube videos on Firefox.
