A few days back I tweeted about "vAn meedhilE" of rAgangaL mARuvadhillai and lamented about not having a decent quality audio on the web.

@raaja4ever had even promised to clean-up his LP and give whatever best that is in the original (though he says that itself wasn't a great quality recording).

Now, we have guitar Prasanna talking about this song in which Sasi played bass guitar :

  With all due respects, I do not find this YT video doing any justice to Sasi. Also, I have searched and have various versions of this song. Nothing captures the basslines well. Can anybody point me to a very decent recording of this song. It is definitely not an equipment problem. I have dedicated tons of electronics to fathom Raja.

Boss of Bass lines..
This recent times is a period of extreme loss to us music lover and Raaja personally.
Sasi sir's loss is particularly difficult as he happens to be family as well.
I pray to almighty that Raajabrahmam finds new areas and avenues to tread and lead us more closer to the Infinite.

I am glad that Eddie is doing this to showcase Sasi. In live concerts, Sasi was designated to a dark area where the camera never went close to his playing. Only folks like Alaap Raju and Eddie can show the world what Sasi did for Raja.

AND... he's done a bass playthrough of Vaanmeedhile as well.

Aalaap Raju, whom you mentioned, also gives a good run through of the sheer versatility of tone and styles of bass playing on Raja songs.

Neethane is very adventurous, melodic and high pitched bass.



Rojapoo is very driving with a deep, growling sound.

By the by, is this the same Eddie who got into a long argument on the Ilayathaalam FB page about some disparaging comments by Raja about his musicians?
