Non-IR misra chApu (7 beat cycle) songs in TFM - #38 நேத்து வரைக்கும் வாழ்க்கைப்பாடம்

We're running a thread in the IR-everything forum listing / cataloging ALL the Ezhadi suzhaRchi songs that IR had done.

I want to also find out how many such songs have OTHER MDs done in TFM.

Hope this thread will help us identify such ones. (I'm curious to know the overall count in TFM)...

3. Not FM but ARR's Coke Studio song, Ennile Maha Oliyo, is based on Misra Chaapu.

If one goes by msvtimes.com, there may not be any MSV number in this nadai

It is really funny to see one fellow doing a "sappaikkattu" in page 2 (as to why MSV didn't have to do these nadai's)

As usual, that eccentric Vaidy guy, who could not contribute anything musically, says other's music is "kaNda kaNda" nadai (means useless / formless) unlike the sophisticated MSV

While acknowledging that those fellows in that forum are MSV-experts, we may still be able to catch some MSV song in misra chAppu ourselves...in case that happens, please don't forget to record in this thread!

Venkkiram sir has posted a twitlonger of IR's misragathi songs and tweeter "Romba Mukkiyam" has replied with this sweet evergreen non-IR number

This used to be regularly on radio in 70's & from the BM movie azhiyAdha kOlangaL (Pratap Pothen / Shobha).

Sung by JC / PS and music Salilda  - sweet song and the nadai is quite unmistakable

Same twitter has also quoted this song from Kamal's uththama villan for misra nadai. 

Thus made me listen to the Ghibran number for the first time 

Personally, I would rate this song "boring" (despite the 7 beat cycle)   

The only +ve factor, IMHO, is Kamal's singing and a couple of smart lines!

All three are typical slow-ARR kinds that are not my cup of tea and though I've heard them somewhere, never paid serious attention

Listened to each of them yesterday but unfortunately, I cannot go beyond a minute or so purely due to "my taste" issues with this kind of music - so it was purely a technical exercise of counting the # of beats in a cycle and confirming it is the right song that RR has tweeted

Hi app_engine, I think in terms of numbers MSV might not have had many, maybe very few, in misra chaapu, maybe thats why they missed out.

it is a little complicated.. it is chatusra jathi misra gathi eka thalam..

it is not  misra chapu.. but a pattern which involves that syncopation.. interestingly this song does not have the words falling into that pattern of thakida thaka dhimi but the overall talam is in misram..

in fact Devendran openly said in an interview that he 'maanaseegamaga' prayed to raja before starting composing for that movie. and the result we all know.

maasila nilave is in a raga-tala-malika.. each stanza in a different raga and tala.

and many kishore songs are in misram in hindi...
