No.5 for Aus.  Deadly bowling performance.  Kiwis seemed to suffer from a little brother syndrome, retreated into a more defensive mould.  The low target made it all the more imperative for them to attack and instead McCullum removed a second slip that might have nabbed Warner early.

Well, as long as there is a good Aus team in the mix, you can never have a hard fought World Cup final!

Selvey boinks Hyd in his latest Guardian column   LOL

How much Pietersen actually believed in his apparent interpretation of Colin Graves’ clumsy blunt-northerner response to a Garry Richardson ambush only he really knows. A base-price IPL contract, paltry by Pietersen’s standards, and in an unattractive city as well, gave him the opportunity to challenge what had appeared to be a gauntlet thrown down by Graves, and in those terms it is hard to fault him, no matter who the runs have come against.

Barbie's batting has gone to dogs, should swap places with Jimmy but to think Boycott compared him to Sobers not so long ago laugh
Kiwis after bullying teams @home are in for a pasting, enough in the pitch for a Jimmy 5ver but punting on Moeen to be wrecker-in-chief.

CSK finally mirroring the state Ranji side by getting
knocked out by a side from Mumbai and bullying opposition only on home-made/made-to-order sandpit pitches with troika of spinners , only
missing piece is getting pwned by a side from Karnatak

but got to give in to Dhoni miyaan's boneheadness/his desire
to keep playing T20s even though he sucked donkeys balls since its inception.
new brief for the commies seems to be 'Dhoni is world's best captain on these sandpits'
guess what any of Cook/Gauti/Harbhi can do a similar job with an army of spinners on these sandpits.

moving on to the test match, Kiwis used up all the luck they could get in a year in their first dig,
had there been any other umpire other than Ravi Eng would be sitting pretty with 150+runs lead,
most of Umpire Ravi's marginal calls on DRS went against them, already Sky commies are up in arms for Eng losing out
on reviews because of umpire's bent on making these 'timid decisions'
since all these 'timid decisions' went against Eng brace yourself for an article on the same by
Booth/Selvey OTOH We need more upright umpires like Ravi to tame these axis of evils  Very Happy

Kane's batting is simply annoying, he is a bit like erstwhile TN batting stalwart Badri with those angled plastic bat/soft nicking it to 3rd man/point/gully, even if he edges it with a booming drive
it hardly carries to slip given the top grip, all these years we have simply overlooked this unique trait of Badri
may be struggling Che can learn this trait/remodel himself on Badri and annoy the living hell out of bowlers/captains  Smile

things are shaping up nicely for Eng, this could well be Stokes;s Ashes with both bat/ball,
given Warner/Smith/Mitch's imminent descent to mediocrity,  expecting Oz to implode.

one of the bats is Nohit, sucks for Che to be dropped for this shithole of a bat.  props to good ol' nepotism for Darty's continued

poor Che might get dropped even after that 100 even with Ajinx stuggles @ 3 just to accommodate
Lolit in 11, this is why
Kohls->Cornerstone->Bunty Sajdeh as it was the case with Dhoni->Rhiti->Arun Pandey
gets messier given Lolit is engaged to Bunty's sis :-)
Cornerstone's clientele includes Meesai.Murkesh/Mijay/Pissaant/Umesh, guess Ash will soon will join the ranks.

^Worldtel guy? he was more of a personal manger looking after Sach's portfolio, he attained Vaikunth around desert storm innings .
Sach's kaptaincy rein was mostly limited to his regional bias(but again Mumbai had a gun side). currently he runs a benami based player agency called NSE.
Cornerstone's only competitor is Gaames which mostly includes losers like Ash/Ajinx/Binny/Pa.Patel and one and only Baba Aprajith  Smile

Ha ha Baba as expected has fallen into the same scrapheap that the likes of Abhinav Mukund went to.
(well, to be honest, it was you who were so optimistic about the baba brothers. I didn't have much expectations)

So, if Cornerstone has the cream, and Gaames the cake, what is Rhiti left with?

I think even the regional bias wasn't so obvious. Kambli wasn't at all a bad resource to invest in, and one might have been justified in giving him a long rope. Ajit Agarkar held much promise initially. It is easy to say in hindsight that it was nepotism giving him chances but it wasn't at all so open and shut then

Even Sairaj Bahutule etc got chances during Ganguly's reign more I think. Perhaps, Nilesh Kulkarni was Sachin's biggest indulgence, even that I am not sure. In fact, wasn't he saddled with Devang Gandhi, MSK Prasad etc during that disastrous Oz tour? Doesn't sound much like nepotism to me. Shows more of his lack of political power that the likes og Ganguly and Dhoni enjoyed later.

along with Nilesh/Sairaj there were Kuruvilla/Dighe/Jaffar who made their debut during his reign,
donno if Sach was skipper when
Nitin Paranjpe was picked( remember him, Somasundaraque bat) each one of them had
strong domestic numbers before the call except Nilesh/Sairaj but credit to Sach for ending Sanju Manju's career

Ajit Agarkar held much promise initially

in odies yes but his continued test selection was Lolitsque.

So, if Cornerstone has the cream, and Gaames the cake, what is Rhiti left with?

Raina recently quit guess he will join Cornerstone soon, Bhuvi/Ojha were Rhiti's last major signings,
no wonder they don't get selected to test side Laughing

Shows more of his lack of political power that the likes og Ganguly and Dhoni enjoyed later.
yep, he hardly enjoyed a continuous string of home tests/lesser sides to settle in say like Gangs/Dhoni, imagine
if he had someone like Dalmiya/Seenu Maama backing him up, his captaincy numbers would have looked very different.

whtya harrowing experience it was..floods everywhere/taxi's engine seize/delayed train and then to top it Luru's kosu thural and sweet sambhar   Evil or Very Mad Twisted Evil
only redeeming factor was this awesome view from Pavilion terrace and a pint of beer for 40rs only thumbsup
The ground is as big as Marina university ground so the sound of the sweetspot makes you feel you are watching
them bat in a net. guess Ash brought his entire legion of family even Chepauk doesn't cheer this vociferously each time he came onto bowl.
Aaron with his new wrist action seems a different bowler and his heavy ball which beat Hashim's defenses  the clap
Isshaant was in his unlucky best, Jaddu's arm went round as the day progressed.
Binny spent most of his day warming up
Mijay was desperately trying to get out in the last half-hour inbetween  played some crispy drives,
if only Meesai/Kohls edged one to the slips would have capped off a perfect day.

1-4 now. Not expected to make it to the semis with that limping bowling and odi batters(rahane/faf and dhoni himself). Steven smith who used to have a good ipl strike rate is itself struggling to put bat to ball.. Pietersen also injured. Will be surprised if they win 5 matches, let alone go to semis.
