Best Kamal Haasan Film soundtrack(s)

List of Kamal Haasan films with ILaiyaraaja's music. I have not included dubbed films and the films where he did guest roles. Please check if the list is correct and not missing anything. We will discuss and vote for the best Kamal film in terms of music. Thanks to venkkiram for starting this discussion on twitter which paved for this poll.

Regarding #13, I used to think that IR did for part of the movie, co-composed etc.

Recently, based on vinyl cover, my understanding is that all he did was perhaps one song for the "muhurat" of the movie. iLangiLiyE.

After that T N Balu probably got sick and the project was half-way...then he died. Per wiki, KH directed the movie and completed / released. So, GA possibly came at that point because the project didn't get IR dates may be.

In the disk, it clearly states IR MD'ed only one song.

Guru-1980 was directed by I V Sasi and most probably a bi-lingual....why Telugu? (I've never heard the Telugu songs but love the Thamizh numbers, kEkkAma eppadi vote pOduRadhu )

BTW, rAsA had a few kuRumbus in that song.

One is often written about, the "ching-chA" sound that supports guitar in the second interlude

The other is sweet, when he adds a flute response to "mangaikkuL kAdhal enum gangaikkuL nAn midhakka" call.

He does it only the first time, as is his norm. The interesting thing is, he does not do this in 2nd & 3rd saraNams!

Means, he added that flute piece just for once in the whole song, to emphasize / underline / whatever that particular line. Something is there that gave him a kick (or something happens on screen as described by director)...

IR on Virumaandi - "Enna padam ithu. Verum vettu kuthu thaan." Seems IR refused to do the movie at first, on hearing the story, saying there was no scope for music in this movie full of violence. He agreed after Kamal said he would reduce the vettu and kuthus. Reduce panna version ippadinaa, wonder what the uncut version would have looked like?

Word. Voted for nearly all RKFI films up there. Michadhum pidikkum. But RKFI (or Kamal scripted-IR composed) each one is a peach that it overshadows everything else (barring Sagara Sangamam imho).

Also, IR said same thing for Aboorva Sagodharargal also no (Violence part)?

Indran Chandran had murdering Mano+horrendous lyrics. Maharaasan was KH's freebie to an old associate and didn't have
much of a role in the movie/making so that explains

yep for KH starrer..with KKK it is 12 films under RKFI

I left out maharaasan, kalaignan, pEr sollum piLLai & kaadhal parisu as not all songs impressed me in these films. I voted for the rest
