சில நாட்கள் கழித்து மீண்டும் ஏ.ஜி.சுப்ரமணியம் இளையராஜாவை சந்திக்கச் செல்கிறார். அப்போது வாலியும் இளையராஜாவும் ஒரு படத்திற்காக பாடல் பதிவு வேலையில் இருந்தனர். இளையராஜாவிடம் அனுமதி கேட்காமல் அவர் இருந்த அறைக்குள் ஏ.ஜி.சுப்ரமணியம் சென்றுவிடுகிறார். கடுப்பான இளையராஜா, 'நீங்க இந்த விஷயத்தை பெரிய பிரச்சனை ஆக்குறீங்க... ரெண்டு மாசம் கழிச்சு எங்கிட்டதான் ரீரெக்கார்டிங்க்கு வரணும்' எனக் கூறுகிறார். அதற்கு, 'ரெண்டு மாசம் கழித்து நடப்பதை அப்போது பார்த்துக்கொள்ளலாம்... இப்ப நடக்குறத பத்தி பேசுங்க சார்' என்கிறார் ஏ.ஜி.சுப்ரமணியம். இந்த விவகாரம் பெரிதாக ஆரம்பித்தவுடன் ஏ.வி.எம் பாடல்களைக் கொடுத்துவிடுகின்றனர். இதற்கு மேலும் இந்த பிரச்சனையை வளர்த்தால் விருப்பத்தகாத சம்பவங்கள் நடக்கும் என நினைத்து அனைவருமே இந்த விவகாரத்தை அப்படியே விட்டுவிடுகின்றனர். ஓவர்சீஸ் ரைட்ஸ்ஸில் ஒரு ரூபாய்கூட இளையராஜாவிற்கு தயாரிப்பாளர் தரவில்லை.

To me, this radio program is all new. The way these internet radios work is a bit weird. They reached out to me and asked me to do a program on Raja. Period - that's all was the request. Between us, I just reached 75 emails with these guys after that! The next thing they tell me is to talk for 1 hour. What, are you out of your mind? How on earth do you talk for 1 hour and keep the listener engaged? They have no recommendation, no introduction about their audience, nothing. They are a bit inflexible too. You are restricted to only Tamil language work of Raja. I had to choose the title for the program and I created a title track too, which they played on the first episode. Beyond music, it also extended to me teaching these guys how to use Audacity! The editing from m4a to mp3 clips was so hard for these guys that I did the full editing of my parts and sound bytes showing them how to mix tracks when there is an speech component This is one hellua ride. They were a bit fixated about the title for the program. My #1 recommendation was 'Vaathiyathil Ellaam Saathiyam'. They killed it. Finally, we settled for 'Raajavin Paarvaiyil'.

This is why I chose C&R, as that is the easiest for a listener to follow. In the first program, they took my content and inserted songs that were no way related to the topic. I had to scold them before they made the change to the format yesterday. Again, they told me that it will be a 1 hour program and extended it to 1.45 hours. Once you submit your content, you have zero control over these guys. 

I still think that they should have never gone beyond 1 hour.

That was a neat and clean presentation.

Beautiful tribute for SPB in Kerala by Mazhavil Manorama.  It was surprising, given that he did not have that much of a run there like he did in the other 3 languages down South or even in Hindi.

The BEST of the lot plus the surprise package was from an actor!  Suresh Gopi's was the MOST heartfelt and sincere, and hence very sweet and heartwarming.  Knew he does sing as well, but did not know that he sings this good.  

That is also very sweet of him to mention the composer name.  He said (from what I understood) that during the 1980s when he was going through some tough times in his life including his father's demise and the fear of the future, he was finding it difficult to sleep and that it was IR songs that lulled him to sleep.

Same goes for Manoj Jayan.  Both managed to bring the emotion and nuances to the listeners.

The lady who sang Aatirambile (Aalolangili thoppile) was fabulous, near perfect to the original by Chitra.

Orchestra was terrific, especially the string section led by Francis Xavier (the guy who can be seen in QFR violin/viola ensemble too).  Chorus was also great, sounding unison and in harmony with the lead voices and instruments.  

Kerala is a land of talented artists (singers are anchoring well, actors are singing well. Voila!) for sure.  How did they miss P. Jayachandran (another good friend of SPB)?

B. V. Ramanan is the father of Surmukhi who sang songs like "Paaruruvaaya" from Thaarai Thappattai and is also a permanent member of IR troupe.  He has sung many tracks for IR.

This Aadhan channel is annoying.  I am sure the anchor Kevin(?) himself a fan of IR, but he and his channel MISUSE the name of IR, by flashing cheap video titles along with IR photo (though the actual TRUTH and the video content is far from that!), like the one you mentioned above as clickbait, to lure traffic (IR fans and pests alike), and hence cheap people always comment adversely about IR in that channel.  This one and Touring Talkies are notorious for that kind of a mean job.

This reminds me of a topic I wanted to open for quite sometime but had been lazy to do so far IR's male chorus is ALWAYS top notch! I will have to highlight some songs in a separate thread!
