I have seen guys criticize Raja sir in Maha's channel and compared Sharreth's own composition with the Maestro claiming that Sharreth overpowered him. I then countered that guy saying would Sharreth himself agree to the said person's view.

Looks like I was right Smile

Sharreth an excellent composer himself (not to forget his vocal skills) knows the intricacies behind giving good music and has seen the genius of the man first hand . That qualifies himself as an invaluable voice providing insights into some of the great compositions churned out by our man..

More power to Sharreth!

After Sharreth's recent video, I hunted for some info on that song mentioned by him.

This folk song is SUNG by IR for a famous Malayalam composer, Kannur Rajan!

The movie is Paara (1985). But his voice sounds younger. And after digging a little more, this interview of Kannur Rajan's son who was also a small-time composer there, revealed that it was sung before IR made his debut. https://newstodaynet.com/index.php/2018/12/01/ilayaraja-sang-only-for-this-composer/

Perhaps, it was recorded that early but left un-used, only to be utilized in that 1985 movie(?).

Apparently, this is one of those FEW times IR has rendered his vocals for another composer; of course, the others being MSV, Yuvan & may be Karthik Raja.
