WOW!  A gush of posts.  So much to read.  

Felt like a festival (mixture of Deepavali, Pongal & New Year) for the past two days!  Checking out friends & families rants, sneak peeks.  IR FEVER!

Sun NXT's annoying videos of rehearsal et al. were a let down for people like me who could not catch it live.

I really enjoyed the Erode concdrt.  You are right about camera work!  Someone who really understands Maestro's music has handled the camera!  
The song selection is just fantastic!!  I was hooked to the videos even though I have been to several of IR's concerts.  This Erode concert is really special - lucky folks to enjoy Ennulle Ennulle live!!!

Both concerts were superb.  Nice to see the crowd going berserk on Eanj Jodi and percussion summa pichu odhuritanga. But there is a stark difference in violin section now that IR is using phoren troupe.  You hear ONE unified violin tone.  This is what was missing earlier.  There is a Kalaignar TV vid of a 2016 show in TN (probably Chennai) of Edhedho.  Compare violin sodhappal there with the performance here and it basically vindicates IR arguing all along in favour of the European orchestras.  Which is obvious anyway because for musicians trained to play complex symphonies, IR's instrumentation is a breeze by comparison.

About the singers, Haricharan was brilliant on Rakkamma.  Mano tries hard but I am afraid he probably did not take care of his voice in the middle and his age shows more than it should.  I wouldn't mind if IR used Haricharan instead of Mano for all the songs originally rendered by SPB.  Hari can't bring the likeness to SPB but captures the attitude which is more important imo.

I wonder why the Malaysia, Sydney concerts have not been uploaded yet.  Perth concert is also joining that mystery list.  I am yearning to see Chitra sing "Sangeethame en deivame" after seeing her rehearsing (Madhura Sudha channel) for that rare, wonderful and National-award-worthy song sung by SJ.

Had been to the concert in Chennai.  Show started late at 7:45 PM (Very unusual).

I am just listing out the surprise songs here.  

* Kai Veenaiyai Meetum by Bombay Jaishree.  Perfect
* Ninnai Charan Adaindhaen.  Bombay Jaishree & IR
* Kaattukuyil from Thalapathi.  SPB and KJY at their best.  This song was the highlight of the show
* Engae Irundhai Isaiyae from Ajantha.  SPB and IR.  Real Surprise
* Vaanathil Irundhu gudhithu vandhaena.  Solo by IR
* BGM piece of Mouna Raagam (The scene Karthik tries to escape from police).  Another highlight of the show.  Goosebumps
* Isail Thodangudhama.  IR and Kamal Hasan explained about how IR found that there is a scope for one more song and came out this classic.  AV was shown without the song (with only dialogues).  Then same AV was played with the song.  Only Raaja
* Edho Mogam.  Hungary orchestra was awesome.  Bhavatharini could have done better
* Usha Uthup sang a very rare song from the film 'Jansi'.  IR conveyed that UU wanted to sing this song and sent the track to him.  IR himself was not aware of this song and the film...!  I also heard the song for the first time.  I was wondering how I missed this foot-tapping number
* Yen Jodi Manjakuruvi was scintillating... With Mano, SPB and two female singers
* Enge Sellum Indha Paadhai.
* Raam Raam from Hey Ram
* Oh Butterfly... SPB was awesome in this song
* Vidharbha sang Annakili Unna Thedudhae
* Nilave Vaa.  You cannot imagine this song without SPB
* Ennulae.. Ennulae.. The original effect was missing (because of the vocals) though the orchestra was extraordinary
* Amma Endrazhaikadha.  Age has taken a toll in KJY's voice
* Azhagu Malarada (sung by a young girl)

Other usual songs like Janani Janani, Om Shivoham (sung by Madhu Balakrishnan), O Priya Priya (Mano.  Hungarians were at their best), Madai Thirandhu, Thendral Vandhu Theendum, Raja Raja Chozhan, Kannae Kalaimaane, Unnai Vida (KH sang without practice and he could not do proper justice to this song), etc.  Towards the end, few Janaranjaga songs (Botany Paatamundi, Singari Sarakku by SPB, Podhuvaga Enmanasu Thangam, Yeh Aaatha by SPB) were performed (after Raaja left the stage).

Show got over past midnight (@around 00:15 Hrs).  Overall an enthralling experience for the massive crowd gathered on his birthday.  IR got upset couple of times during the show.  He stopped the song in between when a security guard entered the stage to provide water to someone on stage.  He called the gentleman on stage and had a mini session showing his displeasure.  He also took a dig at the crowd.  Some of the people jumped from 500 ticket enclosure to 5000 / 10000 enclosures.  He pointed out this and said that you may love me... But you cannot show your love this way.  He also pointed out that he is standing for 5 hours and more during the concerts and whether anyone of you can do this.  Cine-musicians and other sponsors faciliated IR (10 to 15 minutes lost).  Vivek and Parthiban had a brief chat on stage.  Prior to the show, 75 nadhaswarm / Thavil musicians played Raaja's songs for around 30 minutes.  

IR's Charisma kept the audience glued to the show which went for more than 4 hours.
