Looks like all the famous ones of Shankar-Ganesh were borrowed
This topic had been discussed many times in tfmpage.com and definitely does not deserve much of our time.
However, I'm excited to catch something today and can't help but share here
Already tweeted about it :

Today's discovery is that the "signature theme" that was very famous and attributed to S-G (do-doing-dong, do-doing-dong in guitar) is the ending of both interludes of a famous song from Bobby
Listen to it here in this link (exact spot):
"connector" from interludes to saraNams of "Ae Phansa Uska Choota Ghar" :

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AdRPZ4DYy-I&t=1625s
Funny to hear Ganesh claiming that they "modified" some other theme from the same movie Bobby to arrive at this (whereas L-P had already done it in their song in that movie).
Listen to Ganesh story-telling to Basskey in this spot:

Re: Looks like all the famous ones of Shankar-Ganesh were borrowed
The album Bobby 1973 was so famous all over the country, including TN and it reached even remote hamlets, including the one where we lived.
It was one of my most favorite albums during school days and our school had the disk and played it often.
This particular song was very famous and though I didn't know the words, used to sing with whatever "words" (combo of unintelligible syllables) I could throw to fit the tune!
Since the BGM occurs twice in the song, that too as connector to saraNam, no doubt it got embedded strongly in the minds of lakhs of TN-ers. Ganesh simply milked it from their memory and became famous, claiming that as theirs - even today he says he modified another theme from Bobby (hero taking a girl in motorcycle thingy) but this was part of a super hit song already, that too occurring twice !
அடப்போங்கய்யா!

While we have made fun of S-G of using works of others (like the post above), the most recent MD's are going after the works of S-G for their living
I don't know if Anirudh had heard this piece or not but I stumbled upon it when searching for the SPB songs from 1981.
Please listen to the title music of this obscure movie "anichcha malar" by S-G and it is exactly the same notes that are being played 100's of times by vijay television in the recent months.
What's more, Anirudh is their super singer brand ambassador and was dancing for this on stage last weekend - so, Anirudh dances to the Shankar Ganesh tune (new version is
"vAthi coming" in the Vijay movie Master )
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yIMEhR4rGDw&t=300s
Compare that with the main hook played by Vijay TV from vAthi coming:
