Video discussion on IR songs / Original Videos

Sorry folks  I have been out of loop for a long long time. I planned to publish these videos on Isaignani's birthday but didn't make it on time. I ran into technical issues and have to redo it all over again.

I made two videos. One explaining my views on the song "Andhi Mazhai Pozhigirathu" and two, I made a video for the same song with stock footage as a supplement to the explanation video. This is a new attempt and I am trying to make it easy to general listeners but never happy with the format.

This is what shook me when I realized it and gave me sleepless nights. Then it was relatively easier to decipher rest of the parts.

My friends have asked to explain IR songs in Tamil. May be that it is a better idea. I am gonna seriously consider it. I was always interested to taking IR to people who don't know him. That is one of the reason, I was explaining in English. May be it is better to start with home (TN) in Tamil.

I forgot to add a note and I just remembered. I am linking the video where Isaignani talks about how Annakilli lyrics inspired his composition and also how charanam lyrics inspired his 1st interlude that sounds like river flowing. (I believe this is already discussed in this forum but I am mentioning it in the  context of the video I have done)

This genius has been doing this since day one from his first film. (4:25 Onwards)

Haa, it is that abandoned venture "Ilaya Thalam".  Yes, I remember watching that video long back.  I think he mentioned it again in his interview with Gautam Menon, on Vijay TV as part of the IR-1000 event in 2016.

Usha akka, I had the same irritation with the actor for saying that it was Karthik Raja who composed Valli.   There is no way that IR would have played this song on stage and take credit for it if it were composed by his son.  He has no problems admitting it if it were true.

Thank you. Agree with what you are saying. It is hard decipher how IR packed all those feeling in the tune itself. Orchestration adds cream, icing and cherry on the top.

Very tough song to breakdown and interpret. Only God knows what exactly Isaignani had in his mind.

I agree we all feel the song deeply whether we understand the ideas behind it or not. That's the sign of real genius, a master. Also we all see it in different ways. That's why I mentioned 6 blind men and an elephant.
