This song has been on my playlist for sometime now. Not sure, how I missed this earlier. If Kishore was the king of yodeling, Balu is the king of scat in Indian film music. Raja freely uses scat when he gets Balu to sing. While you have songs like 'Puthu Maapiliakku', this is the ultimate Balu did in Tamil.

Thangakili tholil vacha - Manam Virumbudhe Unnai (Tamil 1998) - I could not get this song in youtube or raaga. SPB and Raja simply freak out with a rhythm arrangement that is one of the finest by Raja. The energy level that Balu maintains in this song, is impossible for any other singer. Please post the video if anyone can find it...

I'm not a great fan of SPB....I'm quite biased to Yesudas :-)

Inspite, certain songs I'm very certain none other than SPB can do justice.

Listening to Iniya Gaanam - Thanks to Mersal quality upload of Venkateswaran Ganesan.

This song really surprised me. Just happened to listen few days before for the first time.

SPB just enjoys singing such high energy numbers.

Raja shows how many variations - From Western to Rap to Qawwali to Classical and returning to its original state in Pallavis

SPB and co singers and the arrangements by Raja was a Verithanam

Just posting this here again. I believe only SPB could have delivered it this good.

A song from the movie Kadhal Rojave starring Pooja Kumar (she debuted in 2000!) and George Vishnu (good expressions and acting, for such an excellent pathos), son of Malayalam actress Sheela. After that, I think I only saw him in a tele-serial by KB while browsing channels way back in the early 2000's. IR & SPB nailed it applause
