Sutha samba is a good find. I overlooked. Thanks.

Sugamo Ayiram is the best find. This has the exact combo I was looking for, but somehow overlooked it. Thanks.

Mazhai Varuvathu is not really the right combo for guitar ans sitar. 

Lastly, En Iniya pon nilave is some Himalayan screwups with several codecs being used on an old hit song. The instrument you are pointing out is electric guitar only. Listen to another good version of this song.

What Lydian plays has 4 layers and only three are shown (veena, bass guitar and flute). What is hidden is the guitar being played using a synthesizer (I guess). These is a crowded house, not near neighbors 

Nevertheless, brilliant arrangement.

To me, the most important aspect of this is, Raja is in the right company of Western masters.  Almost every other blog is about Western Classical masters. I am sure, any westerner looking at this list will come to know about one Indian musician too. If they care to read, they will realize that he measures up to some of their best.

I agree with Subha as Raja uses the veena like a guitar in the song. There are a few other songs where he has done it. He also does the opposite - writes carnatic notes and asks the guitarist to play it.
