Thought it's long due. That and Sherlock for Beeb in 2013, I hope. Idris Elba and B Cumberbatch both pretty stuffed up with Holly.

Downton Abbey - Season finale. Think the Lord is in alignment with the progress. And the main conflict is sensitively handled, Thomas, plays it off the straight bat & comes off very poignant, stuck in the time.
On one hand, It does surprise me that a lot of the old guard are pragmatic and wise, but OTOH, throughout three seasons it's almost impossible for JF to morally indict any of the characters nor turn the audience against them fully (bar Bates late wife)..

Homeland, I'm not really sure if the show's that good any more. The way they run down details. And break from one wall to another is little too sloppy, for me. Anyways, it seems they want to make vague parallels with other characters (Brody's daughter, Brody's friends, etc) which aren't really denser or nuanced themselves, or enriching the parallel.. For instance, guilt ridden accomplice of Brody's daughter with Veep's boy, in conjunction with Carrie to Brody isn't really interesting.
OTOH, Dexter seems to build a network of lies, deception and cover-up's, all in 1 episode, a mesh of 'love', that makes for an interesting closure.. On down side, Harry's Ghost returns that obviously lightens the tone of the show. Thought the first few episodes were brilliantly directed. No surprise they brought back season 1 & 4 regulars. (One of whom had directed Luther season 1 finale & penultimate episode, the best episodes of that season)..

saw portions of The Dark Knight Rises (in a chrome plugin free live tv).
Good way to finish things off - I must appreciate the steadfastness of Nolan
in sticking to his own 'puzzle pieces falling one by one in a random fashion' style that he has pioneered.
Also the penchant to find a mystical element and building up a big mystery around it and making it appear as if that is the central conceit of the movie- that misdirection - in a classical hollywood movie that time space would have been devoted to unnecessary romance or bonding etc., here it is a surrealistic episode in an Indian pit - this detachment of a segment and treating as if it is a short film on its own (something Nolan might have picked up from Mahabaratha e.g., Arjuna chasing down jayadhradha - away from main battle field) - is a delight to ppl bored with regular action film templates. and the metaphor that it brings up in comparison - a hero stuck in a pit failing to jump a section in the well to the people trapped in a city the portrayal of irony - these things add to the surrealistic aura in this movie.. need to see the full version in a bluray or DVD soon.

The witch downstairs - Ms. O'Brien?!
On the last episode, see what the gentleman's game does to you. Everybody has suddenly become so attached with each other. And that has resolved so many conflicts just in time for the season finale. Matthew/Thomas can really play the game, can't they. Their cover drives were really beautiful to watch. Molesely's antics were 'jolly' good. They dint / cudnt play football
Season finale pretty much summed up the whole season. If not for Sybil's untimely death the season would have been predictable / boring etc.
Homeland - Dana's *guilt* factor was so sabbaa. Seen that so many times in so many forms. Worst episode of the entire season. Hopefully the next episode will be better. Carrie is going to screw Brody again seems like

O'Brien was good to Molesey and her relative, right? All things considered, she isn't a complete witch. In fact, she seemed to be in mourning for the soap incident.

If they had played football, half the cast: Molesey, Lord, Carson could be wiped out with cardiac arrest..

On the soap incident she mourned only after she came to know that she wasn't *right*. She has killed an unborn baby, almost ruined Thomas' career etc.,

She seemed to regret it straight away, outside the bathroom.. After doing it, she felt sick. And was shocked how low she got?

Bond....Shane Bond (Skyfall) 2012
Could be easily the best bond film of all time in terms of less BS. Good to see that M, Bond and Raoul Silva all have a nasty role to play. Action scenes are Good. I see many complaining about Daniel Craig being the Bond. I say screw that Bond is supposed to be as disoriented in terms of his looks/demeanor. Very Good direction.

Breaking Bad - Done with S3 and the first episode of S4. S3 finale was superb. One of the best season finales ever. They really did up the ante that season dint they. With murders and stuff, really entering the badass territory. But in retrospective was that needed? S2 was equally effective with none of that, aint it?! Anyway I am not complaining. S4E01 the throat slitting was
Homeland S2E07. Another underwhelming episode save for the Saul-Aileen moments. But again as Saul mentioned, CIA is extremely sloppy this season. Dana-Finn story has taken the center stage now much to my chagrin. Next episode promises some action though.

Opening scene of S3E7. If you thought the opening was killer wait till you watch the episode finale.
